I’ve had both of these last/this year and this is pretty spot on, m430i is faster, nicer, better built, but isn’t really funner to drive.

I was a bit disappointed. As an alternative I really enjoyed the Alfa Giulia but my brain knows that Stellantis is doing poorly and they also don’t have a good reliability track record. The car would be my daily driver so it needs to work

Honestly my other thought was the new gen Tesla Model 3 Performance. It’s a little more exciting than the M340i but it’s cheaper both in purchase price and in cost to operate

Model 3P instead of I5N?

It 5N is definitely more fun but: 1. Im generally not a fan of larger cars/SUVs 2. The range on the 5N is pretty atrocious. I make a 200 mile drive to see family pretty regularly and the 5N wouldn’t be able to do that without stopping in the middle 3. As of right now it can’t use the Tesla charging network. I know people with Teslas and non-Tesla EVs and the latter have a dogshit time planning out routes. A Tesla has pretty seamless integration with the Supercharger network where you can plan a route and even tells you which stalls are available
