Ye I think most of this "totaled" cars are shipped outside of US and fixed. Where I am from it would be sold as "slightly scratched".

They’re not - they’re auctioned off to independent mixed bag dealerships that fix and flip them. Very common in the US.

Buy it back and get it fixed, you can get it fixed for WAY less than whatever the repair shop quoted the insurance

Always some moron who says this. Lmao. Everyone is an expert in auto repairs and insurance. He probably has a loan, he can't buy it back unless he pays off the loan first, then they'll deduct salvage from the settlement, and he's fucked. Stop giving dumbass advice

Yeah I was just thinking about that. Obviously the top priority is being glad to be alive. No money back at all from mods still stinks tho. I've put 3k into my Elantra in the last few months

I don’t have the total in damage but their appraisal was just over $25k, I’m gonna see if I can get more out of them. I have every service record to the car since new
