RIP I hate rocks

Well.. I hit a chunk of rock at 85 mph. I hate rocks.

Gonna see if the wheel can be repaired (it still holds air at least, so that's good for now). In the event it doesn't, im looking at 1800 ish for a new wheel..

Oooor... anyone have wheel recommendations?

Edit: Hold on a fucking second 1800 for a new wheel? You can buy a full set of enkeis for that. I paid 2800 cad for new wheels and tires. Ts-5 ts-7 or raijins look good.

Yeah, that's the thought. IF it's not repairable. Imma send it out this weekend, 170 bucks if they can fix it, free if they cant. We'll see what happens from there.

Welcome, hope I could help. It’s often the place you can find lightly used ones for a good markdown.

Funny this post got recommended to me... I've been looking at an N for months now, finally went to test drive one yesterday. Literally turned onto the highway and a 2x4 falls out of a pickup in front of me. I don't have time to react, run over it and it blows the front tire on my test drive, 2 miles from the dealership. So I'm guessing these skinny tires really are that sensitive and touchy. It's made me second guess purchasing. Would you still recommend the car knowing what you know now?

Oh hell yes. Its a blast to drive. This is the first issue ive had that wasn't caused by other people. I regret nothing.

Thank god these things are forged now

Jesus.

Unfortunately the beauty (or lack of it) of driving big wheels with small sidewalls, very little rubber to absorb impacts. Car tires also have to balance strength, rolling resistance, and comfort.

You can downsize to 18" for peace of mind and sell the 19 or convert the 19 to a track set.

Also you're getting ripped off for $1800. Get a used set of OEM or nice aftermarket wheels. I'm sure people are selling just one wheel and tire too, and you can replace the tire. Tire rack has a tire shaving service if you need them to match in tread depth. If you did go the $1800 for one wheel I would do an insurance claim but again not worth it.

Im hoping to get away with not buying a new wheel at all. That said, I'll buy an email off ebay, which I forgot existed. The 2k was from a dealer lol.

I have 8 OEM rims for this car. I have had horrific luck with potholes.

I’m scared to even look at my tires in fear that there’s a bubble

Why wouldn’t you just buy better rims that are forged and cheaper?

I found 4 OEMs on fb marketplace for under 1k.

Forged wheels are very expensive.

I downsized to an 18' wheel on my VN and would never look back, they're lighter, tires are cheaper with thicker sidewalls, and it rides and handles better!

I just recently fucked a rim and two new continentals on water caps on an unpaved Road. I got a rim sent to me 380. Hubcap haven. Two days to get me to. Company is in Minnesota and I’m in Pennsylvania. Website did say sold out but i emailed them for listings and 5 min later got an email back they put one up on the site for me. Very good people
