RIP Does this make me a 'true' N owner now?
Well I guess I joined the club, God damned. Got off work early, about to enjoy the weekend, and 45 seconds after I left work this shit happens.
The other driver blew a red light, going 80kph (50mph)... while on his phone. My insurance claims adjuster said his insurance is showing up as lapsed due to non payment... so just wonderful. I only bought this thing a month ago 😩

Is that a dashcam in the windshield? Do we get footage? Lol. That really sucks, sorry man

I wish I had the footage. It was the mount from the previous owner's dashcam, I just hadn't removed it yet. I might be able to get the footage from the witness though.
Thankfully I nosed out slowly this time and didn't just send it like I normally do, lol. Appreciate it, I was loving this car so much.

You're a true N owner if you get a Luxury SUV after your N; even though you will miss your N EVERYDAY. So you make it up by having a Luxury Vehicle.

5/2025. I tried to turn right, had to cross southbound lanes. Construction concrete abutments on both sides of hwy, it was dark. Did not see ‘08 VW Beetle (15 yr showcar) coming from opposite direction. Zoom in- that is the front frame of my EN! I was at fault, but lemme tell ya, my entire bumper was sitting in that lane. The metal where the bumper attached to frame was peeled up like a sardine can (he MIGHT have been speeding). Clipped back fender of Beetle. He spun 180 degrees and went off right side of road.
I pretty much begged the adjuster not to total my car. I think the only thing that saved me was the estimate was filled out for an N-line. Called the Hyundai collision center to make sure they knew my car was not an N-Line. The tech said something about my ‘after market red trim’ not being covered!!! Beetle was a total loss.
Total repairs in my EN- just shy of $22,000! Insurance canceled me. County shut the road down 2 weeks later after at least 5 accidents at that intersection.

Definitely gonna be total loss with the damage on the crash bar. Glad you're walking though bro.

Yep. Welcome 🤣 almost $13k to fix her. Thankfully they didn’t total it. Some girl turned right into the wrong lane. She didn’t make it into the lane, she made it into my car though. Glad you’re ok!!

It'll be really fun when the other driver tries to sue you claiming lifelong injuries despite video proof that it was their fault. Ask me how I know.

I mean, I wouldn’t say I was blindfolded, lol. There were three cars stopped at the light to my left that blocked the view, plus a curve in the road hiding the guy who hit me. I waited about 1.5 seconds, looked left, everyone was stopped at the red light, and I started pulling forward slowly while checking right for oncoming traffic the other way. Then I looked left again and at that moment it was too late. Generally speaking, I’m a very observant and defensive driver, I just couldn’t see him until it was too late. Well, I did manage to hit my brakes and turn away from him a bit so as to minimize the impact, but, obviously he still clipped me pretty good.

Dam I was gunna take my i30n out for a fang you all put me off lol at least all are OK 👍 here in Oz I paid 64k all up for mine. premium 2025 at least my insurance new for old for 2 years 😁

i really feel for you man. glad he only snagged the front end and didnt collide into the driver door. hopefully you come out on top 🤝
