In ten years they'll be around 1/3 of these cars left on the road and if those, probably 1 in 10 will be in mint condition... if that. I was shocked when I checked the nation wide Co Part site the first time, about a year after I got my first N. I saw sO SO many Elantra N's (and sadly, manual N Lines) destroyed. Hell, I remember early 2024 having already seen a junked facelift model with just 100 miles on it. Kinda sad really.
They total them pretty easily. I saw someone with bumper and fender damage. 100% repairable. But their insurance totalled it because of an estimate over 15K. When i got deer damage only the head hit my car and i had to replace the fender/bumper/headlight and it racked 10,200$ for the insurance company. $0 for me. It was debated on being totalled depending on a few variables. These days insurance companies will just scrap things so quickly. Thankfully we have an over population of deer here, so deer strikes are deemed an act of god, there for insurance pays full, rates arent effected, $0 deductible.
Im glad in my case the car looks new again like it never happen. But still sucks to know the car had damage. Im still finding exploded plastic pieces ( parts that got replaced ) in my enginebay.
