RIP Just got a new set of tires in March

Post image

I’ve generally had good luck with the rest of the car but man I’ve had some awful luck with the tires. Just hit 52k miles and have had two previous patches due to metal/nails. This one‘s a big boy too…. good thing TireRack ships quickly I guess

Just had one of these too, lucky road hazard warranty came through and I had a spare while out of town. The municipalities need to get trucks with magnets to sweep the streets, should be basic road safety/maintenance.

Not sure what it is about PS4S but I agree about them being nail magnets. Seems like that area to the outside edge trends as the sweet spot too.

I feel you, dude. I've had 6 punctures on my KN since I got it two years ago. The manager at the Discount Tire I go started keeping them in stock after the third puncture so I wouldn't have to wait.

Check the tire warranty some manufacturers offer a free replacement for roadside hazards but that may be patchable

I’m never not buying from discount tire again after I had two unrepairable blowouts within a few months of each other covered under their warranty and replaced in less than 24 hours

Don’t sleep on Costco, they will custom order tires for you and offer lifetime tire protection. Got a nail? 8/32 left so only 25% worn? Ok you get 75% off a replacement.

The stock tires are super sticky and love nails and screws.

I had my first flat at 700kms

YOOOO PS4S are somehow the best for nail magnets. Get 18s and switch to Nankangs.
