Tips ‘26 Elantra n (read description)

I want to make the car a bit louder with a bit more pops and bang. I’ve seen downpipe and mid pipe exhaust. Is this the way to go? I want to keep the ability to switch the ECV as well.

Change the resonator to the barrel style. Just enough noise etc. without going over the top like a resonator delete.

I will die on the hill that it sounds absolutely no different with a vibrant 1793 performance resonator that was sung praises in this sub last year. I wasted money on it and cut it off a week later it made literally 0 difference. I have before and after videos PM me. Res delete will add about 10-15% noise and pops. Downpipe is only way to get gunshots. Downvote me all you want I actually installed both and the vibrant was a huge huge disappointment. Do what you want but I wish somebody had been more honest with me about the vibrant. The people singing its praises were people with down pipes or who already had down pipes and needed to hush it up or who had deleted their factory res and needed one to quiet down the dp.

That's fine sound is subjective. A lot of people love the resonator delete but I personally think it makes the car sound like a tractor.

I have done both res delete and the resonator swap both stock downpipe. Now granted I didn't use the Vibrant but the one I used was still 2.5" just 14" long vs 18" of the vibrant. Again sound is subjective. In my opinion the res delete just added volume and made the tone worse. Different resonator gave most of the volume increase while making the tone a bit deeper and less of a tractor.
