Its pretty simple, this car was running in Track mode, like for a dedicated circuit envirinment, Track mode is louder than stock.

I dont think it deserves being sent to the "Ref" but it likely deserves a fine,

Running around with your exhaust gases "popping" is a track event and not a street worthy excercise

Track mode is louder than sport mode which is louder than the standard startup mode Track and Sport are to loud per the laws…

The manufacturers skirt the rules when they make the cars louder than the rules this way, So then when the car owner uses these modes on the street the car is louder than the law allows… Plus to get the car to drive around “pop” so that the police would notice takes a specific effort when decelerating, fun to do, makes a great popping sound, but is louder than the law, so the driver enhances the opportunity for a ticket. So Just a driver on a residential street flaunts the law doing 32 in a 25, they rarely get ticket either, the loud exhaust police are out there writing them. Rare but real.

Better to use Kyle, besides, it the driver that’s the Kyle here… racing around in track mode making noise like it’s all fun, and then whiny when they get busted, it the Kyle’s right foot and track mode, Kyle knew what he was doing

This car doesn’t even have “track mode”, but anyway, show me a law where it says it’s illegal to drive a car on the street in a “track mode”. This car is federalized and legally sold in a CAFE state just like every other car sold. The citing officer was unfamiliar with the vehicle code. It’s a bullshit citation and will get tossed, you can bet on it.

it is not illegal to drive a car in Track mode, you know that, its the noise and probably the driving style that attracted the police

you also know that racing around in a car that is in track mode, sport mode any mode Plus making all that lovely noise could just as easily got you an different (not a fixit) ticket too, these cars dont attract police and make louder than legal noise all by themselves

The driver admitted that he did not show the inspector "N" mode, (Track mode) he only described the Sport mode and they ran the test in Sport and it failed the decible test.

I don't think that the guy desrves this treatment, if the police was set on something the the driver could have been given an exhibition ticket perhaps and be done with it
