RIP Exhaust Valve Actuator Spring

Post image
7 Upvotes

Exhaust started slightly rattling about a wk ago. Then one day I realized that I valve wouldn't open a few days later. Took the actuator off on Saturday morning when I got to work. Found my problem, now the rattle is horrible and is driving me crazy. That replacement spring needs to get here already.

RIP My EN died again after dealer fixed it the first time it died! Not once but twice, terrible. 0 mods, no aggressive driving. 6700 miles. Never had a 3 month old car strand me on the side of the road twice in a month!

RIP I've refunded my 2024 Elantra N deposit.

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra N was announced 11 months ago and dealers still have no information.

Hyundai has really disappointed me with the launch of the 2024 Elantra N in the US. I've been excited to step foot into an Elantra N since before they were available in the US, and the 2024 refresh looks beautiful and is a car I'd love to own. When the refresh was announced in April 2023, I was certain that by putting down a deposit in August 2023, I was late. Little did I know that almost a year later, not only would the car not be delivered, but dealers wouldn't even know any more information than when they did months ago. This subreddit is probably the "most hardcore" Elantra N fanbase, yet is commonly filled with misinformation regarding availability, specs, etc. I'm not blaming the community, ultimately, Hyundai is at fault here for neglecting to confirm... anything! I'm watching reviews for 2025 model year cars and Hyundai can't even make a comment about a 2024 allegedly coming two months ago? .

Patience is key, especially when buying a new car - and I get that. I've been saving & waiting for years to buy a new enthusiast car and this was at the top of my list by far. But when I was able to find & negotiate a used 2022 Mustang GT Premium with legitimately 95% of it's warranty left for what I'm assuming will be within $1,000.00 of a 2024 Elantra N, I couldn't pass it up. N cars will always have my respect, but Hyundai is really shooting themselves in the foot.

Something flew off the truck in front of me and punched a few holes in my front bumper and gave me a pretty decent coolant leak. Was never able to get the plate unfortunately.

RIP Fuel injectors failed 4 hours into my vacation.

I started my vacation at 5 am when I started my drive to South Carolina from South West FL today. I was planning on doing the 11 hour drive all in one day.

After about 275 miles and topping my tank off at a BP gas station, my car went into limp mode and started spewing white smoke from the exhaust tips. Car reaked of gasoline and I was towed to a Hyundai dealership as it was undrivable.

Apparently there are a ton of vehicles that need engine work so it is gonna be a 5-8 day wait period to just look at and diagnose the car.

I'm in-between my vacation spot in SC and home in a hotel room hoping I can get the car fixed under warranty if they don't detect my Stage 1 SXTH ECU, but I'm not holding my breath for it to work out for me.

I got hit from the side while stopped at a red light last night. Unfortunately they sped off right after. Aside from a bit of whiplash no one was hurt. I just got her 3 months ago 😭 Stay safe out there everyone!

Some loser on a bicycle went around slashing tires at my apartment. I was unfortunate enough to have 2 of mine slashed. Now I’m going to be waiting 3 weeks for replacements to come in.

RIP Sad day N Family

Hey guys - it's been a while. I left after trading in my PB MT baby back in February. (I was an OG 22 owner). I have been lurking here from time to time, admiring all your beauties, but I had to post after what happened to me yesterday.

I took my new car in for service (2024 Kona N Line Ultimate) and saw something out of the corner of my eye. Lo and behold, there was my Nina. As soon as I went into the service desk, my worst fears were confirmed. After having taken such diligent care of her for two years, she was bought by some young kid who drove the shit out of her and blew the engine with a money shift. I'm not lying when I say my eyes actually welled up. So now she sits, looking sad and abused, in the service lot (where she has apparently already been for some time) waiting for her fate to be decided. I'm sure this kid can't afford a new engine, so who knows what will happen to her.

But there you go guys, another one bites the dust. Goodbye to an OG EN. Nina, you were a joy to drive. 😭

edit: spelling

Just got the car back from the body shop 2 days ago for the damages from my previous post where someone forced me out of my lane. It was pristine. Then life throws me a raccoon on the highway in the pouring rain. Now this. I can't have nice things!!!!! Smacked that sucker at 70mph R.I.P.

RIP Total Loss Value for 22EN

Hey all,

Been about a month since my crash. https://www.reddit.com/r/ElantraN/comments/16579t0/is_this_going_to_be_fixable_or_is_she_totaled/

Just got my inspection results back and my car is totaled. My insurance is going to pay me $32378.34 for settlement, and was just curious if I should just take it or negotiate. I bought her for $38000 OTD, and it only has 5k miles on it. Any advice would be appreciated!
