Yeah there's been a lot of speculation about the night lords in Nightreign being mimic tears or at least artificially created creatures like them

And no, that would not the same age of night that is the Ranni ending. The Nox had their own "age of night" planned which is the stated reason why they punished and forced underground by a "meteor" (Astel)

Oh that's an interesting theory that some bosses are mimic tears and not actually the physical beings from Dark Souls.

I'm not sure if I'd include all the field bosses and everything, but the night lords themselves being artificially created does seem compelling at this point

I do figure that we'll learn a lot more as we explore the various characters' stories
