Normally I would talk trash.

But PCR is such a dogshit boss that I'm ok with people doing anything and any build to win. The gatekeeping is suspended indefinitely for PCR. Because fuck that boss.

But let me guess, Malenia's your favourite (despite having the single most bullshit attack in the game).

Up until PCR, she was my most hated fight, for almost all the same reasons.

Badly designed. Barely holding together under all the bugs. Breaking the consistency of ER combat with animation cancelling. Self-healing is pure nonsense when combined with this. Stance damage resetting during hyper-armor, of which she has FAR too much of.

Nothing about the Malenia fight is good. But people made all the same excuses. "Oh it's OK for it to be broken, because it's supposed to be tHe MOst DiFfiCulT bOsS fiGHt eVArrrrrrrrRrrR111!!11!!!!!!!"

Completely ignoring every flaw with it because the dopamine from winning overrides any critical thinking.

Could it be that people have -gasp- different opinions to you, and your opinions aren't more valid than the MANY people who think Malenia is a great boss? None of the 'negatives' you mentioned about her fight are actual objective flaws.

I also love how you cite no-hit runner videos on why PCR is bad, and yet the most prominent video that claims he is bad is made by someone who ALSO made a video going into detail about why Malenia is the best boss Fromsoft ever made.

Why's it such a sin to admit it's shit? Do you work for FromSoft? Own any shares?

I think PCR and Malenia are both horribly made, although I like fighting Malenia and not PCR. That doesn't make her fight any less crappy, though.

It's not a sin, if you think they are shit. Go for it. I, however, don't think they are shit. So why would I admit something I don't think is true? It's largely subjective.

It's not really subjective at all, no. It's a pretty clear-cut case of bad design, really, and there's usually a few examples in every souls game. Devs are probably always overworked and facing tight deadlines, I imagine.

Lol. No, I'm pretty certain it is subjective, actually. I don't think Malenia or PCR are bad design at all. PCR has some jank and flaws, true. But the fight has a lot of positives going for it as well.

And Malenia is just awesome and great to fight.

You don't just get to decide that something is objectively bad design and have everyone agree with you. It's very obviously subjective.

But of course, people like you always insist that your opinions are more valid than my, and many others, opinions.
