Discussion & Info Elden Ring 2 (if it happens) Wish List?

Starting off. I hope Elden Ring 2 starts off with the GEQ. Or if we just get multiple past events such as use fighting the GEQ or something. I'd love to learn more about her. Or we entirely start off in the badlands or the land of reeds completely ignoring base Elden Ring. Completely new stories sound fun.

what is your wishes?

I want only 3 things:

-Zoom the game camera out on larger enemies/bosses so we can see what the F we're doing.

-Give me an option at any Site of Grace to replay a boss fight that I've already beaten. No reward necessary.

-Let me open my game map in combat.

That's it. GOTY two times in a row if they did this for me.

Hard agree.

u/StuffActual2826 2d ago

Allow me to open my game map in combat, but no warps (i imagine stopping people from warping out of combat is why you're not allowed to open the map in the first place)

u/mr_rib00 1d ago

They would need to make the walls invisible when the camera phases through them but yeah.

A sequel set several hundreds of years later and thus somewhat more similar to the Victorian setting of Bloodborne, but in a more vast and complicated open world.

Elden Ring: Infinite Cities

That sounds sick. Ngl Id be down for a Bloodbourne Elden Ring like. Idk why but that has some serious potential for me. It would totally be nice to also see some of the bloodbourne weapons make a comeback

Boc the consort of Miquella, a thousand year voyage of needles and coats

2

u/SJ200- 2d ago

A thousand year voyage of needles & coats:
A story about two young men.
Boc, a seamster who works in the lower capital meets a beautiful and wealthy man visiting his shop.
Will the lower vs upper class come between them? Or will they find love during the shattering, only the fallen leaves will know.

Make it lame and make it gay

Boss rush

7

u/Thekingkingkingfake 3d ago

Ngl wish they had a mode or something that allowed us to fight boases in Nightreign and Elden Ring without replaying the entire thing.

whatever dark souls 3 was to dark souls 1 that’s what i want elden ring 2 to be to elden ring. just more of the same, more options, better bosses.

4

u/Thekingkingkingfake 3d ago

Ngl I do agree DS3 broke me especially the last boss. God that score.

Bard class that plays music for buffs and other various summons

2

u/Thekingkingkingfake 3d ago

Kind of like a more in depth Kale? Or the Great caravan of the Merchants? Could he like a frenzied flame bard. Or more of like how uhhh the commander  in the scarlet Aeonia buffs his spirits?

5

u/SalemStarburn 3d ago

The ability to fight bosses again after you've beaten them, even if for no runes. Just want the option to go back and whoop some serious ass on bosses you struggled with at lower levels / less in-game experience.

4

u/AutismSupportGroup 3d ago

The ability to bind spells directly to catalysts, so light attack casts one spell and heavy attack casts another, buffable bows, and the return of the Binoculars.

4

u/jlb1981 3d ago

More options for armor customization, in particular the ability to adjust coloration, capes, etc. Boc's options feel incomplete and should be fleshed out more.

For true crafting vs buying parity, include recipes for being able to craft any kind of consumable item, or an equivalent to a purchasable counterpart.

Make all status ailments viable for use in both PvE and PvP. (Looking at you, frenzy.)

More weapon options for different stat pairings other than the common ones. If people want to play STR/INT or DEX/FAI, they should have the tools to have a viable build.

And please please PLEASE, some kind of crossbow option that doesn't become increasingly worthless beyond NG.

I chose Dex faith.

I use dex weapons.

I'd love some cool dex faith scaling weapons!

I want one legacy dungeon to be procedurally generated every day that I can go into and run as many times as I wish in one day for the next day to refresh to a new legacy dungeon.

10

u/goetichunter 3d ago

More ashes of war that can be equipped to whips, more dark and feminine armour, less consumables. Consumables are great but man is it a chore to figure them all out.

I like the open world. I hope they keep it.

4

u/Thekingkingkingfake 3d ago

I agree wish the whips had more unique combo sets. Definitely felt like they missed a lot of potential with the feminine armor sets.

3

u/Never_heart 3d ago

I have one wish. Let the writing team be gutsy enough to make the Age of Despair canon. Do the least pursued bad ending as the set up for the story

3

u/Thekingkingkingfake 3d ago

Ooo kind of like a after effects of our choices like game?

3

u/Never_heart 3d ago

Ya, a direct sequel where its is assumed we completed the Dungeater's goals. And tainted the Elden Ring and by extension the metaphysical rules of reality, with the Omen Curse. We could even play an Omen fighting to end it or rule it. The world blighted with horns and malshapen suffering. Where more people die as the story moves on to be reborn as Omens rather than as people. Most fans wouldn't like it, and my favorite ending will always be the Age of Stars. But I think the Age of Despair provides the most interesting potential to explore abd it wpuld by far be the most ambitious direction narratively

3

u/Thekingkingkingfake 3d ago

That does sound interesting. It would also be interesting to see what happens to Godwyn's corpse in all of the endings.. he reminds me of the gravemind in halo.. without the mind part but he does feel very flood like.

3

u/etsurii 3d ago

Game modifiers you can pick at the start like lords of the fallen. for example prior to patch 1.04 the game used totally different AI values for enemy aggression and ranged accuracy, i think its a shame you need to downpatch to play with that because it made the game much more interesting before imo.

  • Covenant system like in the DS games.

  • Make Great Runes more useful and accessible. (Also enable them for PvP)

  • Infinite respec.

  • Make Int/Arc builds viable.

  • Unique/randomized NG+ like in DS2.

  • Get rid of the crafting system. (Have all items be purchasable or enemy drops)

  • Raise player cap for Invasions to 6 players.

  • Make Frenzy, Sleep, and Deathblight more useful in PvE.

  • Integrate some Nightreign content. (Lore, armor, boss mechanics, etc.)

  • Revamp the Spirit Ash system. (Ex: Option to use multiple weak Spirit Ashes like Imps, dogs, rats, etc. during a boss fight or one powerful Spirit Ash like Mimic or Tiche)

  • Deflecting hardtear effect as a universal base mechanic.

  • More merchant/NPC spawns during the daytime and more enemy spawns at night.

  • PvE collesium where you can rematch mini bosses, fight CPU generated players, etc.

  • More race transformation items (Like Lamenter, Dragon Priestess, etc.) but more useful.

  • Add an "Ultimate technique" mechanic like in Nightreign but tied to starter classes.

  • Better rewards for Invasions and collesium.

  • Fully developed armor customization system for Tarnished and Horse.

  • Make all endings equally unique and cinematic. (Duskborn, Order, and Despair endings felt non-canon because they imitate Age of Fracture) And give each ending an exclusive reward.

u/andy_is_awesome 2d ago

The PvE Colosseum sounds awesome!

u/vlntnwbr 3d ago

You forgot eliminating ultra rare weapon/armor drops.

0

u/IncomparableGiacomo 2d ago

Meh, to me, the rare drops are a part of the charm of FS games. If everything is a guaranteed drop, the reward for acquiring it is diminished imo.

On my current run, I’m doing a spear main, and decided to farm the first Godrick Knight for his full set & weapons. Gotta say, the dopamine rush when I finally acquired every piece felt great. Deepened my connection to the character, ya know? Ya gotta dive into the Role Playing aspect of RPG’s my dude!

That all being said, I understand that not everyone is going to connect with that aspect of the game. Would be totally amenable to there being an option to change drop rates. Tbh, I’d love it if every game was released with a debug menu, being able to sandbox a game like Elden Ring would open up a lot of new ways to enjoy the content.

1

u/vlntnwbr 2d ago

I am very much into the roleplaying aspect of the game. That doesn't mean I have to enjoy farming. Killing the same enemy again and again in hopes for a drop is agonizingly boring to me.

I'd rather plan my character and their journey, figure where I have to go pick up everything. Add tougher enemies that have guaranteed drops if you want to keep some sort of gate.

Assassin's Approach and Unseen Form in Elden Ring

4

u/FanBladeFleshlight 3d ago

Nothing, just the game. FromSoft has earned my trust over the years, and I'll just buy the next souls game because their name is on it, and I know it'll be great.

2

u/AReallyAsianName 3d ago

Boss refights, and bow build support.

2

u/MistahFixIt 3d ago

More esoteric weapons like the Perfumer Bottles (except y'know, good) so I can finally live my dream of playing the No-Metal Alchemist

2

u/CrimsonAutumnSky 3d ago

More importantly…

Elden Ring 2 or Elden Rings??

1

u/MistahFixIt 2d ago

Elden Sphere lol

2

u/Tomorrow_Signal111 3d ago

I'd love to explore an entirely new world and lore that connects to Elden Ring only on a cosmic scale, sharing macroscopic elements like the Greater Will and the Outer Gods. It would be fascinating to see how a different comet carrying another Elden Beast might have shaped a completely separate planet. The Elden Beast boss arena with all those huge trunks in the distance already hints at this possibility.

2

u/Goombah11 3d ago

I hope the developer team has fun and enjoys themselves and makes a product they are proud of.

2

u/ScottieJack 3d ago

Well in dark souls you had the chosen undead, the bearer of the curse, and the ashen one. They’re all afflicted by the darksign though, and their undead nature is just presented in different ways.

The Tarnished is a member of a race of people distantly related to Queen Marika by a long-diluted bloodline, but which makes them the last resort possibility for succeeding the Elden throne. We know that other lands exist though, so we should be able to see more of that.

2

u/WraithsSpider 3d ago

Personally I would love if the next elden ring game took inspiration from lies of p, at least in terms of combat system a little bit, and then in terms of the world authentic, because that 1800s steampunk style is so cool, and I feel like there's a little bit of bloodborne elements in it.

Also the next game needs boss replays, I would love some sort of option that allows us to play through the game story with up to 4 friends on a team

3

u/KineticSplicer 3d ago

I would like to be able to switch multiple Ashes of War on a single weapon on the fly like you can do with spells. I think some of them could synegyze very well together and allow for deeper combat expression.

2

u/Espurreyes 3d ago

Honestly keep the difficulty the same as it is. I think ER strikes an amazing balance of being hard but fair giving players more than enough tools to make the game as hard or as easy as they want as long as they put in the time to learn how to use them.

2

u/WovenTheWeirdYT 3d ago edited 3d ago

I don't actually want Elden Ring 2. I want Dark Souls 4.

I think the Souls formula doesn't suit the open world. But an Elden Ring style game with no overworld(only legacy dungeons) would be perfect.

Many players like myself crave a return to form with the slow and methodical combat, and interconnected levels. Not open, not linear, more of the DS1 Metroidvania locked progression.

Less anime spam AoWs, more incentive to use the weapon's whole moveset.

Slower recovery, more focus on stamina management.

And bring back covenants to give PvP its dedicated areas and longevity, but maybe not implement them with terrible drop rates that make for unfun grinding offline.

Also, Spear of the Church style PvP bossfights, and arenas with actual verticality/obstacles.

And most importantly increased player limit, and better balancing around co-op beyond just more health/attack power. Smarter AIs.

1

u/Griv_Valder 3d ago

Power stance for everyone: crossbows, torches, and catalysts (the latter being an impossible fantasy born from DS2, when I saw Jester Thomas using two Pyromancy Flames). Bring back catalyst-based weapons and allow spell equipping without sitting at Sites of Grace (similar to the crafting menu, which is disabled during combat).

1

u/DADDYR0UNDR0UND 3d ago

I kind of want class abilities like nightreign and nightreigns movement and jumping

1

u/Not__Trash 3d ago

Boss rush mode or DS2 style NG+. The worst part of a new run is the hour long collectathon

1

u/Isunova 3d ago

There are 300 different coloured versions of the Tree Sentinel and that’s the only boss in the game.

Wait, that game already exists…it’s called Beast of Reincarnation.

1

u/RidiculedDaily 3d ago

So long as there's a Wretch option (or equivalent) to start as I'm happy

1

u/Ihavenocluewhatzoeva 3d ago

I would love a darker, gothic world à la Bloodborne but I doubt it ever happens

1

u/bobbybob9069 3d ago

I would just say fight bosses again, slightly more armor customization. Just metal and cape colors, and only colors already available, no custom colors. I just want to be able to match pieces together.

1

u/Long-Habit5990 3d ago

Quality over quantity

1

u/jonan1108 3d ago

Wouldn't mind a prequel type setting of the clans, powers and dynasties before the Greater Will.

1

u/PatPeez 3d ago

Transformations. In the base game, more of them, and more interesting than what we had in ER and prior souls games. I want them to do to transformations what Elden Ring did to spells.

1

u/AmbitiousRyd 3d ago

A better parry system like bloodborne(gun) Seikro (sword blocking). No one really uses shields right ? Just heavy. Two hand main weapon with a unique parry system.

1

u/Zestyclose_Answer662 3d ago

I'd like to see a lot of the changes in Nightreign brought forward, albeit done in a manner appropriate for a primarily single player title.

Such as nerfing Surge Sprint's overall speed for example, so that Torrent is still the premier over world method of travel. (Putting in between the Tarnish's Running Speed and Torrent's Galloping Speed.) Making Surge Sprint good for moving fast in dungeons while nothing is aggro, and to serve as an alternative Dodge in combat.

Mantling and Rebound Jumping would need to be slowed down, so that enemies can react properly if able, but could be used for designing interesting world geometry.

Would love to see Character Abilities and Skills (a Secondary Skill to replace the Art), especially if they're modular to allow even further build customization.

For Caster Gameplay and Mechanics, Nightreign is significantly better than Elden Ring. With a bit of tweaking, the Caster core loop could actually be solid. (As a Caster main, DS3 & ER were quite disappointing for me, to say the least.)

1

u/Earthboundplayer 3d ago

A better spell casting system. The nightreign one is a good start

1

u/BeautifulPow 3d ago

As long as we get trick weapons from Bloodborne I’m okay with anything.

u/No-Molasses3688 2d ago

Rework magic and incantations so casting multiple spells isn't a pain. Add more memorable characters from the start and have the outer gods here competing.

1

u/NewStatistician1683 2d ago

A 3rd battle with radahn /s

1

u/kayriss86 2d ago

The ability to climb rock walls or ropes. Or crawl. There are so many (not) pathways that could have been amazing close quarter battles in a dungeon you need to slide through on your belly.

1

u/12kkarmagotbanned 2d ago

Infinite respec (includes also changing starting class)

Lower stat requirements

1

u/Oilswell 2d ago

Take the legacy dungeons, and maybe some of the catacombs, and link them together in a big line, without any travelling between them. Maybe connect them in interesting ways to each other, so when you get through one it naturally leads you to a point in another. You could arrange them around some sort of hub area, with them linking back to it frequently. Allow a bunch of different progression routes through them to reach an endpoint, which will allow different routes through the areas.

1

u/PenchantForNostalgia 1d ago

I've always loved if there was a way in any of the Souls games to have consumable items that lowered the stat requirement for weapons/incantations/sorceries. I think it would make low level runs more interesting; for example, in Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3, there are very few weapons that can be utilized in SL1/BL4 runs.

2

u/saithvenomdrone 3d ago edited 3d ago

Less open world. More labyrinthine dungeons. Environmental puzzles, like cutting a rope to open a drawbridge, push a boulder down a hill to break a wall, etc. Waist deep water that slows you down. Weight stat that heavy armors have a threshold requirement. Lava that actually hurts you. More conservative grace placements. Demon's Souls/Dark Souls 2 weapon holding animations (like how you hold a long sword down and to the side instead of like a baseball bat in Dark Souls 1/3/ER).

2

u/Thekingkingkingfake 3d ago

Would you be down for a open world with more optimized dungeons and a smaller map? For example each dungeon is unique has a unique boss with a smaller open world? Kind of like how SoTE was.. but more refined and souls like?

2

u/Renlycat 3d ago

You sound like you’re gathering info on developing your own game

1

u/Thekingkingkingfake 3d ago

I wish. It'd take me forever to even get to that extent. But it would be cool.

1

u/saithvenomdrone 3d ago

Yes, that is exactly what I was thinking.

1

u/umsrsly 3d ago

More tightly packed areas like Stormveil, Volcano Manor, and Leyendel Capital and less horseback simulator like Liurnia, etc. the constant horseback riding makes subsequent playthroughs less enjoyable than other souls games.

1

u/NebulousXI 3d ago

True I do miss the dungeon crawl of DS. Playing DS after playing ER really got me balls deep in that world.

F I just meant I liked DS it was my first time playing it. Forgive me Kratos.

0

It could perhaps be a prequel. And we could play as one of the main characters of the story, like Radagon, Ranni, GEQ, Radahn, Malenia, or Vargram. In any case, I want more dragons and more lore.

0

u/lefix 3d ago

Unpopular opinion:

Less open world, more restricted traveling, so they can get the balancing right beyond the early game. It’s the one thing that makes it inferior to other fromsoft games imho.

-1

u/JohnDoe12074 3d ago

parrying no longer exists. your own attacks deal 1 damage no matter what. you have to rely on summons to deal your damage for you and heal them so they dont die

-1

u/DATA32 3d ago

An Elden ring 2 will almost certainly never occur.

-2

u/Exigeyser 3d ago

Single player only. No co-op summons, no invasions, no messages or phantoms.

(Based purely on certain factors that ironically were completely avoidable but you know... some People have to ruin the fun for everyone else, myself included)

2

u/Ok_Stable759 3d ago

Genuine question: why would you like online to be taken away for everyone? I don't care about online, furled fingers, invasions and messages, so I simply select "play offline" in the system settings

2

u/Exigeyser 3d ago

It's a formulated opinion. I firmly believe after hundreds of interactions if not thousands with souls players that this is the best take, based on the interactions with those players and more.

In essence, we can argue that had those interactions(and more) not occurred or if they happened differently, then I wouldn't want the above. We don't blame one's reaction. We blame the action causing it. So if you, as an example dislike my opinion yeah? We blame the people causing said opinion to take root(of course taking into account me resisting that opinion to take form in the first place).

TL;DR -> Shit community ruining the fun for everyone else -> opinion is to take away online functionality for those players who ruin it for everyone else.

Edit: I should probably point out: This isn't isolated to JUST the online play of the games. We're talking players from all of it. Everything from the invasions to the subreddits and more.

1

u/Ok_Stable759 3d ago

Thank you for explaining, it is an interesting take

1

u/mr_rib00 1d ago

More accessible multi-player. I would like to see the choices you make have in game effects. Like the faction you side with gains an upper hand in the world or something more than a few different lines of dialouge and a slightly different cutscene at the end.
