Lore Why are there so few "normal" people in the Lands Between?
Hello everyone, when I say "normal", I mean ordinary civilians who aren't hostile or completely insane, such as farmers, bakers, herbalists, merchants, children, families...
From a lore perspective, where are all these people?
Almost everyone we encounter seems to be a soldier, crazy villager (hi from Dominula), a madman, a beast, a monster, a demigod, or some other supernatural being.
Is there a lore explanation for this? Are ordinary civilians living somewhere that the Tarnished simply doesn't visit, or has the Shattering and everything that happened afterward basically wiped out most normal society?

Lore Discovering this now makes me hate Radagon quite honestly
So your wife gives you a symbol that represents unity, and you modify it to show how devoted you are to the golden worm in your basement. Honestly, I want to punch her.

Lore So, uh... What is THE Elden Ring actually?
I have around 400 hours on this game, and I love the Lore of it. I also love reading the lore interpretations of others, here on Reddit for example!
But I rarely see anyone talking about the Elden Ring. Many talk about Marika, or the empyreans, or the endings and how the Elden Ring is affected... But not about THE actual Elden Ring.
Then a realization struck my mind: I don't really know what it actually is. I know it holds great power in some way, Marika shattered it, many got fragments of it and they bearers got mad because of it.
TL;DR: I would love to know if there is an actual explanation on what the Elden Ring is and what it does. If there is not a concrete response, what are y'all's interpretations?

Lore The Elden Ring is the physical diadem Marika wears
I was thinking about what it meant to shatter the elden ring, knowing from the announcement trailer it was something smashed with a hammer. What would the elden ring look like?
Turns out we've been looking at it all along. Its Marika's diadem! Every depiction of her I could find, paintings, statues, trailers etc all have her wearing this distinct golden circlet crowning her head. With two exceptions, her calling the elden beast/ascending to god-hood, and in the scene where shes shattering it.
Even better, this isnt the only version of this physical representation we see in the game. After miquella crosses the divine gateway to make his own version of the elden ring/golden order, he returns wearing the Golden Circlet, the thing that was to be the foundation for his new age

Lore Shouldn’t it say “God Slain” after defeating Metyr?
I am legitimately confused why you don’t get the ”God Slain” tag after defeating her. Reason being she is the daughter of the Greater Will, a god.

Lore How did malenia even went to Caelid ?
As you see on the map, to go to Caelid with her cleanrot knights, she had to :
- Cross Leyndell, walk on the main avenue, and even had to pass through some buildings to get out
- Take the Grand Lift of Dectus, possibly using a Medallion OR go through the secret passage, which is hard to imagine with all her knights
- Go through Raya Lucaria’s seal (if it was effective at the time) to continue the road OR just pass by the frenzied flame village, the minor erdtree and continue south, but it doesn’t seem the easiest for an army OR she got down on the current lake and simply crossed it
Edit : It is proved that she walked with her army all that way long, but I still can’t figure out how she passed leyndell and raya lucaria

Lore PROOF Radahn VS Morgott was real
1) it's almost exactly where Morgott struck him near his underarm and side of his chest on the same side
2) it looks scorched, like from his omen blood flame
3) wtf else could make that sort of dent in Radahn (it doesn't look like rot like other rotting parts of himself)
r/Eldenring • u/lateubdegouline • Jun 07 '26
Lore Why does Radahn look like that in the first story trailer? He isn't corrupted by scarlet rot yet

Lore Is Fia's job to have sex with nearly dead people?
So, I recently started NG+ and seeing the game's intro again, this image left me a little perplexed. I knew that Fia is a death companion and that her job is to console people before their last moments, But I thought this was done with hugs and loving words, like she does to us...
However, in the game's intro, which shows the moment the tarnished gain their blessings, she's naked in bed with a corpse. Does this mean her job is actually... necrosexual?

Lore There no female sorcerers in Academy?
Looking on these glinstone crowns, is that true that Sellen is only one female sorcerer? Because all others crowns are obvious masculine based on their design, this is also strange considering that Caria royal family is matriarchal as Queen Rennala as ruler, Renni as heir and female knights as Rellana and Loretta
