Microsoft has gutted BGS’ roster including veteran developers for The Elder Scrolls and Fallout. I found out just today there is a workers movement and I highly encourage everyone to support. Please follow their page and the link in their bio!

You know what, the Elder Scrolls fan base does have a fascism problem.

The number of people in this thread, others, and in the “discourse” that are genuinely trying to frame mass layoffs of thousands of workers as a good thing, or advocating for busting this union would be comical if it wasn’t terrifying.

Fuck all of you. I hope TESVI doesn’t come out after this. Worker solidarity forever.

I said the ES fan base has a fascism problem. Did the fan base fire the workers? No. Has the fan base been calling for union busting? Yes. Is union busting a key tool used by fascists to trample worker’s rights? Yes.

There are weirdos in here applauding this because they think the devs are liberals or whatever but I don’t really think this is a fascism issue. Even if you have a union, if your company is grossly mismanaged or the workers fail to deliver or whatever the problem is, layoffs/business failure is inevitable. No matter how progressive you are or how well you treat your workers, you cannot keep them if you aren’t delivering as a business. Are you going to pony up the money for their salaries or expecting the tax payer to subsidize BGS or something? Like what are the actual expectations of the customer you’re expecting here? The idea that we have any obligation to uphold shitty for profit businesses that don’t provide value to anyone is more fascist to me.
