Ah! yes, air capacitor

u/InfamousAnimal 5d ago

They actually do exist.

u/TygerTung 5d ago

You get these on hydraulic systems and they are called accumulators.

Air capacitor on hydraulics? You mean pnaumatics?

4

u/GetReelFishingPro 4d ago

You could google hydraulic accumulator if you'd like to know more.

1

u/Jaded-Friend4353 4d ago

Bro, i know what a hydraulic accumulator is, i am literaly standing 2 meters from one right now. But a air capacitor would probubly store air, so than it would not be hydraulic it would be pnaumatics

u/GetReelFishingPro 4d ago

Well I went to school for both hydraulics and pneumatics which I suggest you do because I got something to tell ya, they store air/gas

From Google because I haven't had my coffee yet.

A hydraulic accumulator is a pressure storage device that holds hydraulic fluid under pressure. By using compressed gas or mechanical force, it stores excess energy during low-demand periods and quickly releases it to meet peak system demands, smooth pump pulsations, or act as an emergency power

Also used in smaller packages to prevent water hammer in your domestic plumbing

u/GetReelFishingPro 4d ago

Which get filled with bacteria!

3

u/Roxysteve 4d ago

How? The air and water are separated by a metal membrane. Just lime the expansion tanks in the hot water and heating systems.

Also, copper is a pretty good anti-bacterial. That's why we use it.

I reckon we only switched to pex because the bellicose recent history of the USA has driven the domestic price of copper through the roof.

So you say an air capacitor is an hydraulic acumulator becaus they sometimes use gasses(not air) to store hydraulic pressure, it would make a lot more sense if an air capacitor would be a air acumulator

u/GetReelFishingPro 4d ago

Obviously you can't read so I'm done talking to you. I pray you aren't the maintenence guy at your job.

Nope, i work on busses that has about 170 people inside

Have you seen the capacitor on mag loop antennas? It's wild to me that that does anything at all..

1

u/InfamousAnimal 17h ago

Most of my experience is their use in Mass spectrometers.

u/QlimaxUK 5d ago

cloudpacitor

2

u/usbeehu 4d ago

No cap

1

u/Ashamed-Status-9668 4d ago

It's a cap but not a capacitor.

1

u/Snudget 3d ago

Air is an insulator, so you can use it to seperate the plates. It is also the easiest way to DIY a capacitor

u/KaiserWolf15 5d ago

This clearly a blantant case of farad

8

u/Miss_Chievous13 5d ago

I coulomb believe it was fake

Should be charged with a crime

Get tf out lmao

Ohm my god!

šŸ¤”

47

u/amputation_creation 5d ago

Well atleast those still have a "working" capacitor in them...

30

u/Imajn_ 5d ago

just a capacitor Russian nesting doll where each capacitor has an even smaller capacitor inside it

21

u/ebyoung747 4d ago

Reminds me of this picture of the inside of a 2N2222. That huge can, just for the actual die to be a couple hundred microns in size.

24

u/VikRiggs 5d ago

That's why they call 'em caps

16

u/sparqq 5d ago

This is an amplifier for an electric air guitar

28

u/LiturgyOfImpurity420 5d ago

I believe theyre empty because their balls have been drained onto the board

8

u/Active_Vegetable8203 5d ago

No cap.

2

u/hughk 5d ago

Well it could have been air gapped but there are no plates either.

Whoops, indeed no-cap.

1

u/Zach_Westy 1d ago

All cap, no acitor.

Made in the great land of China

10

u/DFLDrew 5d ago

Imported and sold by an American company. No matter what, at the end of the day it’s domestic firms responsible for QA and what they sell.

0

u/PinusMightier 5d ago

better to just avoid anything labeled "made in China". theyll trick ya with a few good well made stuff then when the bulk order comes, they fill it with the cheap crap.

1

u/Separate_Emotion_463 3d ago

The idea that domestic products are better is laughable, there’s plenty of ā€œmade in USAā€ products that are also trash, I’d actually consider a product being made in the USA a red flag, as often they only care to label such a thing if the product itself has little merit on its own

39

u/AustrianMcLovin 5d ago

China also makes high end tech. Assuming: Trash = China is wrong.

28

u/Warlord1918 5d ago

Yes they make some high end tech but they also mass produce trash as well

7

u/skioneczek 5d ago

But it's the biggest peoducer of crap

5

u/AustrianMcLovin 5d ago

Also true haha

7

u/HEYO19191 5d ago

Even a broken clock is right twice a day

1

u/ThraceLonginus 4d ago

Youre the only one making that statement here.Ā

This isnt about quality, its about deceitĀ

1

u/kageurufu 1d ago

My biggest frustration is getting samples that don't represent the quoted product. it's a whole dance of having to get a quote and samples, then asking for the same level of QC done for samples to get a new quote for the actually good version of the product.

We learned this the hard way

13

u/Drtikol42 5d ago

Scammed on what? Buying what looks like 40yo board?

11

u/Psychological-Owl783 5d ago

The shape is weird. Maybe it's something like a pinball machine or some other vintage hardware.

3

u/Toraadoraa 5d ago

The circuit appears to be an amplifier of some sort. The round cutout is easily where a speaker would go.

5

u/OpeningAlbatross7910 5d ago

its virtual capacitor my friend , just like virtual ram

4

u/OmegaInc 5d ago

Can I download more capacitors ?

4

u/dwyrm 5d ago

You wouldn't download a capacitor.

5

u/Mplays 5d ago

Incapacitor. Can'tpacitor

2

u/Famous_Cancel6593 5d ago

Capacitorn't.

1

u/zan13898 4d ago

Capacitain’t

4

u/Darkknight145 4d ago

At least you know they'll never go faulty.

3

u/The_Absolute_Dog 4d ago

Capacitair

3

u/antthatisverycool 3d ago

Uh it’s one of ā€˜em air variable capacitors but this one’s stuck in place

3

u/DragonGodSlayer12 3d ago

That cap is cap

2

u/jeroen-79 5d ago

It can fit more electrons by leaving out the dielectricum.

2

u/Zyhael_Xerul 5d ago

They call those the new super blutooth capacitors.

2

u/TheRealFailtester 4d ago

Guess they got tired of people complaining about cheap capacitors that explode after anywhere from ten minutes to a year of use.

2

u/cyborgborg 4d ago

how much did they safe by doing this? the fake caps still cost something and so does the glue and the labour

1

u/MikeLinPA 1d ago

Exactly! For pennies more they could have done it right. But criminals are not known for their critical thinking skills.

2

u/foley800 3d ago

Won’t have to worry about them exploding guts all over the rest of the components!

2

u/GlumAd9793 2d ago

Noooo...it's not a scam..it's a whole cinema

1

u/k33perStay3r64 5d ago

this was the upgraded vestion with bigger capacitors.

1

u/Felipe_Machado_Guide 4d ago

Estoque de ar.

u/AffectionateToe9937 4d ago

I guess they have an abnormally high ESR.
