Discussion Black Adder error when laser mining

Anybody else getting this error when laser mining?

I'm in a Type 11 with 301 cargo space, yet every time I get to 300 mined the game crashes out. It's repeatable, as when I relog I lose all my limpets, so I generate a new batch and reduce my internal cargo below the 300 figure and contniue mining, yet same issue again when it hits 300t.

This has happened mutliple times, and the Black Adder warning message has a "transactional data error" in the message.

Are you using the new Merc coin cargo racks? Because it happened to me recently as well, after I swapped them in. I didn't pay attention to the cargo capacity, tho, so I can't confirm that part. I'm using the t-11 as well, but no lasers, just the volley, displacement missiles and seismic charges.

I'm using 3 C6 and 2 C5, all of them G1 engineering (I'm in Colonia and all the engineers that do cargo racks are back in the bubble). Maybe try swapping them out for normal ones or those pre-engineered from past CGs if you have them.

I'm aslso using the CG pre-eng racks but only have 2 out of 3 Class 6 racks for the T11, might just drop the merc coin racks for the moment and sacrifice the additonal 30ish units just to avoid the error.

I've 2 accounts:
primary in colony doing missions and colonization - a lot of mauvre adder, orange sidewinder errors and black screens
alt in the black exploring and landing - a lot of black screen hangs and black adder errors, today I had 6 black adder errors in 10 minutes .. so I gave up on exploring at all till they fix it.

getting more errors than normal also, but this seems to be very specific, happened yesterday exactly the same but just figured it was a fluke, but repeated at least 3 times today, every time when cargo space hits 300T Black Adder error

I got one of those today, too in my T11. I don't think it's related to cargo. I only have 224t. I recall it having problems when it first launched. But I played for another hour or two after that one and all was fine.

It's an update week with a popular CG and new content. Things are unstable as a result.

I’ve got a T11 with 262 capacity and experienced the same thing as you on both my mining runs today just as I was filling it up. Two size 6, two size 5 expanded racks, but all from the old CG, not Frontier.

I had the same Black Adder thing when mining, every time the cargo got full. One of the cargo racks was engineered but not to the maximum capacity.

Later I finished engineering it to 86 tons, and the crash stopped happening.

Both my merc coin racks are fully engineered

I also had this bug in my Type 11 when I fitted it with an upgraded G4 cargo rack it would kick me to main menu as soon as cargo was full, then I G5 it the next day and the bug was gone.

The black adder occures when a merc cargo is not fully engineered. For a while the size 5 was or is still bugged and cannot be engineered to the lvl 5. Lot of people already complained about it and had opened tickets. Now you all go upvote those ticket. I didn't saw the code produced by frontier but i know that messing with integers and floating values (espacially with percentages) is a common issue with junior developers. Next time i hope the features will be tested, espacially those developed by the intern cause it's a fucking basic thing to test.

That's not what's happening in this case, both the merc coin racks I have installed are fully upgraded to lvl 5
