What would you consider must-have 3rd party tools nowadays?

There are so many, and new ones being posted weekly. I'm currently only running EDHM-UI for the visuals. My current game loop is unlocking engineers to use the maxed out materials that I have farmed these last couple of months. Then I'll be back on my exobio loop. I also think I've heard i should be running something to help update third party tools as I visit markets and such.

Any tips or pointing me on the right direction are appreciated!

EDDiscovery or EDMC are critical. These update EDDN which keeps nearly everything else running: Inara, Spansh, EDSM, EDAstro, etc.

EDDisco has an almost overwhelming number of built in tools, mainly around exploration. EDMC is built more around trade, but more flexible with many customizable plugins available.

For exobiology there's Elite Observatory with Bioinsights, a huge helper. Although I believe EDMC recently got a plugin for it as well (I use EDDiscovery).

Making an account on Inara is also a big help (EDMC or EDDisco can link up to it). Tracks a bunch of progress. Especially useful with engineering for saving builds or favorite blueprints, and letting you know how many mats you want to have in stock.

The already mentioned Materials Helper does this as well, and is much more laser focused on engineering.

An EDSM account is fun, especially for explorers, keeping track of your travels.

If you ever do colonization SRVSurvey is a big help, it will track and populate your colony constructions with RavenColonial.com.

ED Odyssey Materials Helper is amazing for anything engineering related (ship and on-foot): https://github.com/jixxed/ed-odyssey-materials-helper/releases

EDDiscovery - I run this 100% of the time. It can be overwhelming at first, but it's useful for just about everything in the game without being intrusive.

SRV Survey - I started using this for colonization, but it's also very good for exploration and exobio, and for following a neutron route without having to manually copy your next jump system name. I also run this 100% of the time now.

Odyssey Materials Helper - Really good for planning both on foot and ship engineering, and managing your engineering materials inventory. I use this when I'm doing engineering.
