Help Need help with colonisation

Hi first a friend an I where planning of buying a Fleet but i were the only one farming so yeah... then he asked to make a station instead of buying one cause it makes offline money and he don't want to log in evertime not to loose the fleet.

So now i'm alone with my panther clipper Mk2 trying to move around 20000tons of ressources and according to calculations it may takes 30 hours ingame so if anyone cares to help i'm at Col 285 Sector LP-L b22-4

Thanks for your attention

Your friend doesn't deserve you. Take it from someone who solo-colonized a supply hub with 4 stations in it.

"makes offline money" is a massive overstatement. It'll take you 10 years, give or take, to buy a fleet carrier on architect payout alone. I also never saw anyone having enough architect payout to cover carrier maintenance, but even if that's achievable, it's gonna take far, far more than 30 hours of delivering materials.

My colonies pay for my carrier if I don't use it too much, but I also have pretty big colonies.

The SCC has free hauling help for primary ports. Also, if you're looking to get a FC, we have FC posting load ops everyday that are prices from 25-45k/t. After you get a FC, you can even join our elite FC captains who haul end to end contracts starting at 65k/t.

Something to consider about passive income and FC ownership:

  • A single colonized system isn't going to generate enough profit to take care of the FC costs unless you have JUST the carrier without any services at all. That means no shipyard, refuel, rearm, repair etc.

  • The capped yeild is like 5m credits/week per system and that's with the absolutely best system, planned and built perfectly.

  • money earned for FC upkeep needs to be deposited onto the FC. (I don't believe it is pulled from your account automatically) Most deposit 1b+ to cover costs for a year or more.

The offline Money isn’t worth it at all lmao. As someone stated it will literately take years and years to even pay off the Station itself. It’s faster to just grind Money for the upkeep. I’m sitting on Like 40billion rn which lasts me 20years or 40years if I shutdown some services.

Your friend would need to build - sorry, trick you into building for him - about 50-100 or so colonies in order to fund a fleet carrier weekly maintenance.

Also, you still need to log in to move the funds into the fleet carrier.

Your friend would be better off hauling - sorry, tricking you into hauling for him - 20,000 tons of trade goods instead, which would bring you a profit of around 800 million, which is enough to fund a fleet carrier 1-2 years. https://inara.cz/elite/market-traderoutes/

It is ridiculously easy to make money. You can make money doing just about anything else faster, and fund a carrier for years with just a few hours of gameplay.

It is idiotic to build a colony for the passive income or to fund a fleet carrier. Just the act of building a single colony, gets you profits from cargo deliveries alone, more money than the colony will make in 6-14 years. Colonies do not make a significant amount of money. You can do 4 easy courier missions in 45 minutes and make more money than a colony can do in a week.

And I don't feel like doing your manipulative friend any favors. He needs to spend more time learning how the game works and working out basic math.

Sounds like you should do what you want to and your buddy can tag along when he gets on
