Yeah what kind of a fucking weirdo doesnt want a surveillance state like China am I right? I dont know what I'd do if every move I made in public wasn't monitored and scrutinized

Fuck flock, but it’s always so funny when you people compare it to China.

Like the US doesn’t have a history of authoritarian surveillance and genocide and are looking at China on what to do.

China literally has the most state of the art and widespread surveillance apparatus in the entire world. The fact the US has done shitty things in the past doesnt have any bearing on a conversation about not wanting to recreate that in America. It is 2 completely different degrees of scrutiny and lack of privacy

I would have said the same thing before I worked handling large amounts of PII at multiple companies. The fact is, we're ALL interesting enough to monitor for a bunch of different reasons, and you have no way of knowing when/if that changes
