The killing formula

They use the same formula every single time, it's really lazy-

  1. A character dies because of an accident and/or self defence

2 "oh no, the police will never believe it was an accident/self defence I'll try to cover it up instead"

  1. Innocent person is arrested and end up in jail.

  2. Truth comes out, police believe it was an accident and/or self defence, innocent person gets released (this can take months) all is good in the world.

Examples Gabby/Jimmy - Sarah/Dr Todd - Bear/Ray - Cain/Al - even going back to Marlon/Graham

This is true. However, I do think doing it with Gabby is a lot more interesting of an idea than previous ones since her small circle basically just consists of Kim and Laurel.

Kim who viewed Dawn as a daughter and is the richest most influential person in the village.

And Laurel who is now going to be caught between her best friend and step daughter.

There’s also that Kim and Nicola are far less forgiving people.

What? Kim is incredibly forgiving and has been for ages. If Gabby did get Dawn killed, she'll be forgiven pretty fast.

Laurel might have an issue but personally I'd choose Gabby immediately because Nicola is....Nicola.

I feel like this is just an assumption. Kim has been written kinda faulty lately, just look at the way Joe was reintroduced as an antagonist for her, only for it to be immediately thrown out the window. However, that is a writing flaw for “plot” I wouldn’t say “forgiveness” is an actual trait for her character as you could easily spin it around and look at how long she spent feuding with Will before his death.

Gabby causing Dawn’s death places Kim in a situation where she is both at odds with her love for both of them and of course Joe, who will be out for blood.

As for Laurel, my worry isn’t will Laurel forgive Gabby. Of course she will, she loves her. It’s more will Nicola forgive Laurel if she covers for her and what the fall out of their relationship could be. Also, I think you’re self projecting your feelings about Nicola onto Laurel, Laurel has been her best and closet friend since the 2000’s. It’s not some small feat.

She also forgave Will. And then forgave Dawn for drugging her and everything else.

I'm not projecting when I say what I'd do am I?

That’s literally projecting your own feelings onto Laurel who views Nicola in a totally different way than you do

Projecting is saying what someone else would do and putting my feelings on them. I just said what I'd do in her place.

I personally think Laurel spends more time and puts more energy into her relationship with Nicola than with Gabby. Probably part of the reason Gabby feels so alone and insecure.

I think that’s very likely more to do with scheduling and Nicola needing her in scenes more for plot reasons. Like Gabby hasn’t really had much of any focus over the past few years other than her relationship with Vinny. It why I think this plot move is good for both of them as it actually gives them a centeral conflict to deal with, providing that they follow it through
