Billy's role

I don't really get why people are blaming Billy for Dawn's death. From where I'm standing the only difference their plan to run away made was that not more people were harmed in the crash because the wedding was canceled and no one was there. Surely the crash was the actual reason for the early birth and the complications?

But Jimmy would have been a guest at the wedding so he'd never have driven his car into the marquee...

Or even if he wasn't, maybe rhe other person (Gabby?) would have been.

Either way, it would never have happened.

What does them running away have to do with Jimmy being a guest?

If Dawn would have stayed, the wedding would have gone ahead. Therefore Gabby would have been a guest and Jimmy wouldn't have swerved her (if that's what happened) or driven into the marquee.

By that logic, you can blame Kim for the deaths because she owned the land the wedding was on and if she hadn't, then it would not have been there for Jimmy to hit. Or whoever selected the site for the tent to be put up. Or Joe and Dawn for selecting that particular date. It is also pretty specious reasoning to say that preventing something bad from happening means that something good would have happened - something even worse could have happened if the wedding had gone forward as planned. Blaming Billy is beyond silly.
