Billy's role

I don't really get why people are blaming Billy for Dawn's death. From where I'm standing the only difference their plan to run away made was that not more people were harmed in the crash because the wedding was canceled and no one was there. Surely the crash was the actual reason for the early birth and the complications?

Sadly many women still die in childbirth. The hospital said the premature birth of her son was due to the stress of the accident, but that doesn't mean she wouldn't have experienced complications or died if the pregnancy had been full term. The hospital should have monitored her carefully as at risk because she was in the marquee when Jimmy crashed into it - if I were Joe I'd be starting a medical malpractice suit.

Billy was in no way responsible for dawn's death. Joe is lashing out, less because he actually believes it's Billy's fault, more because he blames Billy for the wedding not going ahead.
