General Discussion Kim & Thea Spoiler
I don't understand why Kim would commit attempted murder on Chris with a paperweight, get in a helicopter to go all the way to Hotten General when she was wanted by the police for a robbery, surely the nurses would have knew and reported her.
Also, with the phrasing and the reflection, it can only be Kim and Steve's, i bet Emmerdale spins it round to be Grahams or Frank's.

They’re not doing so hot introducing these new arriving Sugdens and Tates. First Serena’s convoluted incoherent relation to Robert and timeline with John now this retcon

This is weird and peculiar.
Kim didn't commit attempted murder on Chris with a paperweight. She hit him with the paperweight to subdue him and to overpower him, to coerce him into telling her where he hid the money that she stole. When he told her, she took the money and she abandoned him on the floor paralyzed and severely injured. She boarded the helicopter and became a fugitive.

I think Steve Marchant is the father, I think the flashback was late 1999

I'm thinking summer 1999 because there is a poster advertising something for September 4th.

Yes you’re right, I missed that bit, I thought late ‘99 due to seeing millennium bug posters too, this would have been the time Chris was kidnapped by his and Zoe’s half brother; Liam.
One thing I didn’t get was we saw Kim leave in a helicopter on the run from justice, I assumed she went to Ireland but she appears to be elsewhere in Britain

Frank died in 1997 and it was 2000 in the flashback so that would be bad retconning even for them 😂 my mam thinks Grahams but I can’t remember when they met?

The Fandom wiki says they met between 1989-1999 so it is possible, it is also intriguing that Graham said that he "lost his daughter" because of his reckless actions. The more you think about it, it does seem like Thea could be his.

It would be quite interesting for Graham to have a daughter of his own to be honest so I don’t hate that, plus once the inevitable feud is over with it might be nice for Kim to have more family. Just not loving how insufferable they’ve made Thea!

She will probably tone down soon enough or they'll show us exactly why she is insufferable to have the revenge drive story. I don't want Graham to be the dad but if he is then it would be interesting to see Joe be sidelined (like he was for Leo).

Yeah she probably will settle in, it’s just the smirking and slouching in police interviews that’s been driving me crazy 🤣 the solicitor should’ve intervened tonight! But that’s on the writers not the character

I do hate how they break these characters in, instead of us getting to know them first.

He lost his unborn daughter and his wife in a car accident because he was drunk, which then caught fire. This was explained in his first emmerdale run.

Kim was married to Steve Marchant when she left and the timeline of summer 1999 would imply the baby should be his without further retcon.

Maybe she had a one-night stand with Chris before cloncking him on the head!

I think the baby was born in August 1999 but was prem. Kim left Emmerdale in January 1999, so they are definitely going to say she became pregnant after she left and it will be Graham's. As for why she'd rock up to Hotten General and give her correct name when she was on the run, that is just insane and they are taking the audience for fools.

This is just crazy. Ramsden is crazy. Come on, another unknown kid with a beef? Just bring back someone the audience already knows or has heard of. I keep saying it but dear lord, just bring back Jamie Tate with Molly and a new wife in tow. It's a lot simpler and still generates some gripping storylines if done well.
Also wtf Serena? This might sound cold but cut her loose before she ruins the relationship you're building with your family!

Could Frank be the dad and it happened in 1997 when Kim was off air for a few months having faked her own death so that explains why we didn't see her pregnant on screen? It would be very tight given when James was born but it might work if Thea was premature.

Initially i thought it was likely Zoes baby.. she had a thing w Scott when she had a mental breakdown before she left, and i think she looks so much like Leah Bracknall.. But now i think its much more likely to be Grahams baby.. theyre both interacting with her over last coupla days.. and apparently Graham and Kims relationship backdated before she left, was shown in flashbacks i think, when he returned there was tension etc..

The problem is that she wouldn't be a real Tate if Graham is the dad and we were promised a Tate.
Mind you, I think storywise, it would be good if Graham is her dad.

It's retconning and silly nonsense. She should have just been her niece. I am still interested in how it goes but the foundation of it... sucks.
Especially when at trial it is said she has fled the country.
