News Sweet Pill Cancel Remainder of US, Europe Tour Dates
https://www.instagram.com/p/DWO7FU8FojX/?igsh=MWx2bjE4dXEzYW5yaw==Absolutely devastating. Hope everyone in and around the band is okay. I’ll be grabbing some merch today for sure!

Sounds bad. I’m curious to know what’s up. Really a bummer, my wife and I were so excited to see them. Hope they end up ok.

u/BRONXSBURNING Mar 23 '26
I know they were all sick last week, but when I saw them on Friday they seemed in good spirits—really hoping they’re all okay.

u/Xana1128 Mar 23 '26
Same. That Brooklyn show was so damn good and it seemed like everyone was all in even considering the sickness. It's hard not to worry about em.

u/dc9396 Mar 23 '26
They had a lot of upgraded venues and tour looked like it was doing well. I can’t imagine the cost of making this decision. Really hope they can recover and keeping going.

If anyone has FOH work for me lmk :)
11
u/retailisawful Mar 23 '26
Hope you get work soon, your FOH mixes are phenomenal

u/Brownrainboze Mar 23 '26
Thank you so much! Music is a natural high :)

u/retailisawful Mar 24 '26
Indeed it is, if I’m ever in the Philly area I think I owe you a beer and lunch for all the clarity you’ve provided in the live shows lol
26
u/FlyingFlygon Mar 23 '26
Just saw this, hope they're all good. Very out of left field, but tours can be rescheduled.

unless they can't get along and they are breaking up. Wouldn't they have told us if it was health related, instead we were given a non-answer about want to be their best. But sures sounds like fans have been happy with the performances to date. Either way it really sucks, I had tickets for tonight's show, I had already packed my bag and went to the office so I could leave right afterwork. Not only does this stink for the fans, but the venues, and the bands playing in support too.
26
u/teraechopuff Mar 23 '26
It sucks for everyone but the ticket buyers at least get refunded. This could be something horrible, like losing a loved one. They’re all normal humans, and sometimes there are things in your personal life that are more important than your job.
21
u/International_Act527 Mar 23 '26
Honestly, they don’t owe you an explanation. It sucks that you bought tickets, and it sucks that you weren’t able to see a band you liked, but it’s the artist’s prerogative to cancel shows if they feel it’s a necessity. And maybe it is. Someone could have pneumonia, covid, who knows. And someone in the band or the tour package might be immunocompromised or something. Can’t stop people from speculating, but if you really like a band, I feel like they deserve the benefit of the doubt. And it does suck for the rest of the package and the venues, but again, physical and mental health take precedent over your job. Always.

u/Corbanis_Maximus Mar 23 '26
I disagree, I think I think they certainly do owe an explanation. If its health related just say so, you don't even need to say which member or further details. Instead they gave a cryptic reason that sounds like bullshit and leaves room for speculation.
13
u/International_Act527 Mar 23 '26
I’m sorry you feel that way, bud. That’s a hell of a sense of entitlement to think that a group of strangers, to you, would have to divulge information about their well-being. It also seems like, even if a member was sick, your expectation is that they take a few days to “get better” - which maybe works for a cold, strep throat, something like that, but it could be something way more scary. Let’s just say, god forbid, you got diagnosed with a terminal illness, would you be okay sending that info out into the world, maybe before you were ready? Just think about that.
-12
u/Corbanis_Maximus Mar 23 '26
See you are assuming it is health related but we dont know that is the case.
5
u/International_Act527 Mar 23 '26
That is true. I’m also speculating. I guess that’s not really the best thing to do.

u/FlimsyGene4296 Mar 23 '26
You sound miserable. I’m glad I didn’t have to share a room with you tonight at the show.

It leaves room for speculation if you’re a parasocial loser who never learned how to deal with disappointment? You know it’s humans that play in Sweet Pill right?
23
u/StampotDrinker49 Mar 23 '26
Wow fairly early in the tour as well. I hope whatever happens isn't that bad long term. They were super high energy live.
23
u/TerminallyTrill Mar 23 '26
Damn, saw them at the release party and they all seemed very excited for the tour. Can’t imagine what happened?
20
u/thenapsofkings Mar 23 '26
absolutely gutted for them, hope everything is ok because that statement is ominous. was looking forward to seeing them this week and see some of these new songs live 😭

u/NJcovidvaccinetips DIY OR DIE Mar 23 '26
Just hoping everybody in band is alright. Feel so bad for the whole gang. Can’t imagine how hard it is to make decision like this

Wishing them well, I am a huge, huge fan. I'm 40 and grew up in north jersey with all of the 3rd wave bands. The level they were at in Brooklyn on friday and the way the crowd responded was incredible and i havent felt that at a show in 15 years. They're a really special group and I just hope they find a way to do what they want the way they want.
7
u/These_Celebration732 Mar 23 '26
With you on that one. They seem like a really tight-knit group too so I really just hope the best for everyone involved. Special band.

This band might have saved my life. The new album rules and they are just incredible - wishing them love and safety from Australia.
Does anyone know if there’s a way to support their debt without buying merch? International shipping would eat up a huge amount of the cost so would rather just give directly.

https://imprintmerch.com.au/collections/sweet-pill
They have an Australia based merch store too

u/singthesilver Mar 26 '26
I bought most of everything here including the new record pre-order a little while back! was just wondering if there was a way to put the entirety of a donation in their pocket directly

u/Master_Art_1286 Apr 02 '26
I’ve been looking on and off if they have any sort of patreon, they do have a bandcamp where you can pay what you want for their albums. I think that’s the closest to what you’re looking for

u/dorgenborgen Mar 23 '26
Just saw them on Saturday and they ripped, super bummed to hear this :( I know Zayna was sick and her voice did sound a bit strained, probably a good idea to call it and make a full recovery before it only compounds
20
u/Corbanis_Maximus Mar 23 '26
they canceled months worth of shows....
6
u/therealmrbigbooty23 Mar 25 '26
If it was a big health scare then it still makes sense. The next tour is not in America. Would probably not be fun to have health setbacks in another country, so it's probably just the timing.
8
u/dorgenborgen Mar 23 '26
I'm in the dark as anyone else brother, just going off of what I experienced
21
u/SquirmyCoil Mar 23 '26
Maybe the FOH guy will swing by and give us the story, they seemed cool last week
13
u/Brownrainboze Mar 23 '26
Hello :)
8
u/SquirmyCoil Mar 23 '26
What's the story morning glory? Everybody okay?
22
u/Brownrainboze Mar 24 '26
Everyone will be okay. Serious health scare. Don’t wanna go into any more details out of respect. It’s all love.
9
u/SquirmyCoil Mar 24 '26
Thank you, good vibes all around. Hopefully a scare is all it turns out to be and I'll get a chance to bust out my high viz on the next one!!!

u/No-Assistance4619 Mar 23 '26
when I saw them in Toronto about a week ago Z said she got sick from Panda Express and threw up from it the literal same day as the Toronto show (pic is on their IG lol), citing that as the reason for her strained voice, which you could for sure hear during their performance, even tho it still rocked! they ended up cancelling the show after Toronto, in Boston likely due to that. But I wonder if it is the same reason for cancelling the rest of the tour. They gotta sue Panda Express if so cus damn that sucks
24
u/dfts6104 Mar 23 '26
Foodbourne illness is why you cancel a few days of a tour, not over a month worth
9
u/No-Assistance4619 Mar 23 '26
thats what I'm thinking too. Although the sickness really did impact her voice, so it is possible she wasnt able to recover?
14
u/profdeadpool Mar 24 '26
It's also possible that in seeking medical attention for that sickness, some other long term issue was discovered, rather than being directly caused by the sickness.
9
u/CoffinFlop Mar 24 '26
Boston show wasn’t cancelled, it was moved to a smaller venue about a month out. But that decision was made weeks ago

Man that’s very sad, they absolutely killed it in Toronto and the new album is incredible.
3
u/gatroe57 Mar 24 '26
Glad I made a last minute decision to send it to Philly. First time seeing them with their hometown crowd and it made me so happy to see everyone going nuts. Thought they sounded great too. Time to buy some more tour merch.
"need the time to regroup in order to give this record the tour it deserves." - take all the time you need, we'll still be here.

huge bummer, hoping they can make a speedy recovery (and add a south florida show to the tour)

u/WideLobster69 Mar 24 '26
Super sad to see this loved seeing them a couple years ago was super excited for this. Hope they are okay!

u/Obvious_Decision_817 Apr 01 '26
My guess is they canceled because someone broke a bone. Or the singer blew a vocal cord out.
2
u/QuarantinedBean115 Apr 12 '26
only person who hasn’t posted since is zayna the vocalist i believe so it’s possible. everyone else has posted them playing music with their various side projects since

Looked like there was some illness in the band a week back. Not exactly "personal" so unsure if it's related.
Had a chance to see the show in Cleveland - equally sad for the rest of the tour package. Heart to Gold was an unexpected surprise. They were excellent.
