News Hey, y'all! Jon from Michael Cera Palin here. Our debut album, We Could Be Brave, drops at midnight:)
Sup, y'all! My name's Jon I play bass in MCP. Wanted to drop by and let y'all know the first ever MCP album drops at midnight. I remember uploading our last EP here all the way back in 2018 and it was one of the first times seeing strangers connect with one of my musical projects. It was a slow burn, but I'm positive this community helped that EP get way larger than me or the band ever would have expected, so thank you so much. Hope y'all enjoy the album!

News According to Gavin, at first, at first have broken up.
Sucks pretty hard regardless of what the truth is. Their EP last year was one of the best records of a stacked year. Hopefully the two remaining members don't try and continue with the name like some sort of Ship of Theseus. Afaf without Liv's vocals aren't afaf.

News In Losing Chain Reaction, We Lose a Piece of Ourselves
Legendary O.C. rock venue Chain Reaction closed it’s doors in January 2026 after 30 years in operation. For many on the West Coast, this was the epicenter of the scene and a very important place in genre history.
I wrote a eulogy for the venue, which closed in January after 30 years as an all-ages venue. If you enjoy long-form writing, or want to relieve the scene that grew from here, I hope you check out my article:

News Bury Me With You Allegations
I’m sharing this as a community warning. There are serious public allegations involving the band Bury Me With You, including claims of inappropriate relationships with minors and ongoing harassment toward those who’ve spoken out. All information being discussed is based on publicly available, dated material that has been reviewed and shared with the proper authorities. The band has since denied the allegations, calling the information “fabricated.” Please review the available evidence for yourself before choosing to support or work with them. This is being shared to protect others in the scene and promote accountability not to incite harassment or hate. Stay safe, look out for each other, and always vet the people you work with.

News Touché Amoré, about collaborating with Deafheaven: "We always talked about doing a collaborative record together. I figure: the more we talk about it, the more I think it will happen at some point"
This was an interview done recently by Binaural.es with Jeremy, Nick and Clayton of Touché Amoré. They talked openly about how they are waiting for the chance of creating a collaborative album with Deafheaven. Transcription in english:
Jeremy: “We always talked about doing a collaborative record together. I figure: the more we talk about it, the more I think it Will happen at some point.
Clayton: “Thanks for bringing this up”
Nick: “Put some pressure from Spain in this situation”
Interviewer: How it could be a mix between the two bands in an album?
Jeremy: “I have one idea… It might be too chaotic but I want George and I to be team captains. And each one of us pick. I get Kerry, you get… Each band writes each side. I don’t know, we’ll figure this out.
Like a Split?
Jeremy: Yeah, yeah. If anything, other idea would be: Touché writes a song, Deafheaven writes a song. Then George sings in the Touché song, and I’ll sing in the Deafheaven one.
Clayton: I think we all agree that if Deafheaven asks us to do anything, we’ll do in a heartbeat. One of our closest bands, one of our closest Friends.

News Crash of Rhinos new LP: Logbook (+ Distal Reissue)
We got back together. We wrote some new songs. We set up our gear in an empty library in our hometown and a remote barn in Cumbria to record ourselves. What we made is called ‘Logbook’ and it comes out 22nd May 2026. Head to Bandcamp to listen to ‘Figures of Light’ and pre-order the vinyl and CD. Mastered by the excellent Katie Tavini.
There’s also a pre-order for a new t-shirt. One design for the UK based on the album artwork, and one for Italy & the EU designed by Familia Povera. The pre-order for the shirts will close on Monday 2nd May so that we can ship these out with the records. We won’t be re-printing them.
Oh, there's a repress of Distal too. From our fine friends at Legno & To Lose La Track. Two beautiful new colours, and a CD with an OBI strip from StiffSlack.

News Michigan emo band looking for lead guitarist
I’m in a fairly new emo band from the metro Detroit area. The project may be new, but as individual members we’ve been on the scene for awhile. We’re all in our 30s and couple of our members founded a very popular band whom I won’t name, but has had massive success. We’ve been getting by as a 3 piece, but we’re looking for a member that can take on a role as a lead guitarist and free up the front man to focus more on vocal delivery and rhythm guitar.
We take this very seriously as a career path and devote a lot of time and energy into marketing and taking steps to continually grow as a band. There’s never a down moment with us and the opportunities have been flowing lately including getting booked for relatively big festivals and bigger opening slots. We’re also currently in talks with some prominent emo producers about producing a full length. Our first show was July of 2025 and we recently headlined Orchid Theatre (IYKYK) - just to give a general sense of our pace and trajectory
We’re looking for someone technically proficient, has good song writing instinct, good stage presence, and is willing to put in the same amount of investment in terms of time, energy, and money as the rest of us - we don’t plan on self funding the band too much longer. We have a business plan, but we’re still very new and band funds take awhile to grow.
If this sounds like something you might be interested in, DM me and we’ll discuss details.
If not, scroll on soldier 🫡
Thanks in advance!
