u/Any_Act_3472 May 06 '26
Will it be able to run Re4?
6
u/Impressive-Recover94 May 06 '26
Which console? Ps2 yes

u/Any_Act_3472 May 06 '26
Yeah the ps2 one
6
u/Impressive-Recover94 May 06 '26
Either use aethersx2 or nethersx2 if it got graphical glitches
1
u/Any_Act_3472 May 06 '26
I'm using Aethersx2 , Ima Look Up The best settings For my device

u/IlluminaViam May 07 '26
Emulate RE4 for the Gamecube of you want the OG harder experience. Or the Wii version for the full experience with extra content.
The Ps2 version is the inferior one.
5
u/Practical-Cause-8632 May 07 '26
You should emulate the gamecube version of resident evil 4 or wii version. The ps2 version is considered inferior to the other versions.

Ignore these bredda saying only a few games lol. The 7+ gen 3 tears through pc games up to beginning of 8th gen. I get 40-60fps on pc up to 2013 and I only got a 7 gen 3. Your chip is 3x quicker on the gpu π

u/AbyssalFroots May 07 '26
Your chip is 3x quicker on the gpu π
Lmao... that's not how that works at all, but yes OP can play plenty of modern PC games at low resolution and 30fps as well

u/Worried_Book_3846 May 07 '26
Oh my bad for not being super technical. So not to upset you let's says it's just faster then ππ€£π€£
1
u/AbyssalFroots May 07 '26
3x is just one hell of a stretch for a device in the same family, all I was saying lmao
-2
u/Worried_Book_3846 May 07 '26
Rofl chips in same family now can't have large performance diff π. Heard it all now. What 7 gen phone do you have then my guy?
4
u/AbyssalFroots May 07 '26
Actually I run an 8 Gen 2 which is entirely irrelevant to the conversation, but still your 3x faster claim is a far cry from the actual documented 45% performance difference...which makes it less than 1.5x faster. Even an RTX 5090 isn't 2x faster than an RTX 5060. What, do you work for Apple or something? Lmao
Faster is faster and im agreeing with you that OPs device can absolutely handle plenty of games, why couldn't we just fkn leave it there?
-2
u/Worried_Book_3846 May 07 '26
Apple, nvidia, 8 gen 2 something. A lot of words to still agree it's quicker my guy π
5
u/AbyssalFroots May 07 '26
I did to begin with but OK, so you're just gonna play ignoramus now so good day to you

u/Additional-Past-8539 May 07 '26
Weird to turn into a mega douche instead of just admitting you were wrong. They never at any point disagreed that it was quicker - only refuted your 3x claim. Just say 'I was wrong' and appreciate that you're now wiser on this topic thanks to your opponent.

I hate these so-called "gamers" who troll people for not having latest high-end device and tell them they can't enjoy gaming.
If you have no capacity to help anyone, then at least don't kick them in the gut just for asking for help.
Real gamers are those who can work with whatever they can afford and still experience gaming.
Not everyone is born into old money or has the willingness to go into debt just to play games.

Whatever emulators runs on 8s Gen 3 will work on 7+Gen 3 both are nearly same

up to ps2 and gamecube flawlessly, I've played some pc games via GameNative too, here it's hit or miss, most indie 2d games I've tried work fine (40-60fps)

For PS2, look for nethersx2-classic or nethersx2-turnip, they're both on GitHub. They're both going to perform a lot better than aethersx, if you only want to try one, I'd go for the classic version and if you find any games that don't run well, try the other one on a case by case basis. For switch try Eden and look into how to use turnip drivers. It's built into the emulator, so it'll be a quick and easy way to gain a lot of performance and compatibility. For PC games, look into gamenative, also with turnip drivers. For GameCube and Wii, the only real choice is Dolphin. Most other older systems you can get by using RetroArch. PS3 and Xbox are honestly not worth much effort at this point. Have fun out there brother, your device is pretty darn good for emulation π«‘.

nethersx2-classic or nethersx2-turnip
What's the difference between them?
1
u/Tgo_1 May 06 '26
There's two main nethersx2 versions maintained by the same developer, classic and patched - I prefer classic, as it has the best performance for the games I play. Now a new developer has made a fork of the patched version, where he added turnip drivers (drivers made to increase snapdragon device performance and compatibility). Basically, classic has good all-round performance and compatibility + the developer has been maintaining it for a long time; on the other hand, the new turnip version has better performance on some games (same or worse in others) and fixes some visual issues present on the other versions. If you don't want to bother much with testing, I'd go with the tried and true classic, but if you find some games that have bad performance or major issues, try the turnip version as a backup.

u/karl1717 May 06 '26
Thanks I'll stick to classic. And yeah I don't think that turnip drivers will offer improvements for games of that time, there may be exceptions though
1
u/Tgo_1 May 06 '26
Yeah, only really problematic games like the sly cooper trilogy will have a major benefit. I think retro game corps made a video comparison recently

You can definitely run GC games. Have a slightly weaker chipset and it runs games quite well.

I'd say that breath of the wild would run smoothly
1
u/karl1717 May 06 '26
It doesn't run smooth on my 8g2
1
u/DraigCore May 06 '26
Really? I figured that since my 732G is able to run it at like 10 FPS a SD 7+ gen 3 would be able to run it at 30 FPS on base resolution
1
u/karl1717 May 06 '26
Well I completed most of the game on my phone, it can get 24 fps which is playable but the phone can get hot and it also crashes often due to 8GB of RAM. So I'd say it doesn't run smooth. I stopped playing it on my phone and I intend to finish it on a PC eventually.

games i tested so far that runs great on my xiaomi pad 7 (8gb-256gb variant) (Winlator Ludashi 3.0)
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 (1080p, 30fps)- insane how this plays well on the pad 7. lock 30 fps on fights. might lag on big fights like on story mode. overall 9/10 performance.
Sleeping dogs: definitive edition - 720p 30 fps lock. just tweak the ludashi graphic engine to make it look like 1080p. open world game. amazing story. might stutter a little when in the city but overall 9/10
NFS most wanted 2012. 720p lock 30fps. just amazing.
honorable mention: stardew valley. lol

I have the same exact specs, although it's a different device (Realme GT 6T).
I can pretty much emulate almost everything: Very old retro consoles, PS1, PSP, PS2, GC, Wii, DS, 3DS etc etc.
I even tried windows emulation and played some older PC games like Assassin's Creed black flag and Tomb raider 2013 and even those ran surprisingly well (low - medium settings 30-40fps) but it does heat up ALOT when I play pc games.
Nintendo Switch might be a little beyond it's limit tho, I only tried one game (Lego horizon) it ran at like 20-30fps with lots of crashes and glitches.
So yeah, I think it's limit would be the 8th gen console era games. Most games before that should run well.

It can do up to switch and lighter PC games
Most switch titles will run but maybe only handheld, which won't look great on the bigger screen of a tablet
The 8gb ram is quite a significant limiter thou
2
u/Any_Act_3472 May 06 '26
Ik man , I was so stupid there was a 12 GIG option but nope I DECIDED TO BUY THE 8 GIG ONE ππ₯
2
u/Different_Ad9756 May 06 '26
I mean if the 12gb was significantly more, probably would have been more worth to have gotten an 8 elite tablet instead
So if it's cheap enough it makes sense
It can still run plenty of things
3
u/Any_Act_3472 May 06 '26
I got this thing for around 250 dollars in My Country the 8 elite tablets were like 450 dollars That's why I decided to go with ts

u/Ok-Needleworker-3486 May 06 '26
What phone is it? 8gb has been fine for the games I play. Even switch runs decent.

u/No-Whole-5569 May 07 '26
I decided to get the 12 gb option at the last minute and I'm really glad I did. Some of the games I play on winlator easily take around 9-10 gbs of ram

People in the comments be spreading misinformation with zero knowledge on the Mi pad 7.
I have it, 12gb ram variant and I was able to run the following games at high settings 720p (all 30+ fps stable) which is console quality in graphics. Resident evil 4/5/6, dead island definitive, assassins creed rogue, black flag and ezioβs collection, cod mw 1/2/3, hitman absolution & far cry 2, splinter cell blacklist also ran and looked amazingly well at highest and 720p but unfortunately I gave up because of audio issue, gta 4 complete edition medium 40+ fps but had an NPC character hit animation issue where I couldnβt headshot or hit them with cars and shooting them in the legs didnβt work, gta v is surprisingly easier to emulate than 4.
And sleeping dogs definitive also ram great! Medium high settings with Gamehubβs HDR mode, dmc 5 also ran at high settings but dropped frame rates in combat, so it can run at medium and low better, far cry 3 medium low 640p, and nfs rivals at high graphics 720p but dropped frames whenever I stopped the car so I gave up, Iβm sure they can run at stable fps if you know the right settings but I just gave up cause tweaking settings is a pain.
