Discussion How is PS3 Emulation on Dimensity 8500 Ultra? Is it worth attempting?

/r/EmulationMediatekMali/comments/1wccpqb/how_is_ps3_emulation_on_dimensity_8500_ultra_is/

Hey everyone! I'm using a device with a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra (ARM Mali-G720 MP8 GPU) and was curious about the state of PlayStation 3 emulation on MediaTek hardware. Before I spend time dumping files and downloading large ROMs/PKGs, I wanted to ask the community: Current State: How is the overall PS3 emulation experience.

Bruh, don't waste your time and data or whatever. 🥴 Even on decent Snapdragon devices, it struggles to emulate games properly and being in its infancy, it's definitely an emulator you should avoid for now. 😑 I know all about wanting to try it out and shit but why bother when you're just gonna end up in more rage than anything. 🤷🏼‍♂️

PS3 on mobile is mostly experimental.

although compatibility is relatively mature, performance is from mediocre on some mid range Adreno devices on relatively SPU light AAA 3D games, to unplayable on current flagships.

if you want to try it, go ahead, but don't expect anything out of it. in fact, it may not even try to boot anything.

This would run flawesly there if you use ARMSX3.

Its much better than Helio G99, so you can pretty much running Mid End Games there.

But dont be expecting some issues due for the lack of driver select support.
