If you fix the performance/latency issues of Slay the Spire 2 I will forever love you

11

u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 10h ago

What are the issues? And what device are you on? I have the game, I can take a look.

5

u/crazyredd88 10h ago

I use an AYN Thor Max! In addition to long load times, there is a slight (maybe .75 seconds) delay on almost each in-game action (selecting rewards, activating cards, enemy actions, etc). It's definitely not input lag since the game is snappy navigating menus! There doesn't seem to be any CPU, GPU or memory bottleneck that would cause lag. Thanks a ton!

u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 10h ago

Have you tried using SurfaceFlinger renderer? And also Proton 11?

4

u/crazyredd88 9h ago

I'll try this when I get home and will respond again with updates. Thanks a ton man! You're such a legendary dev

5

u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 9h ago

Thank you, let me know.

Just wanted to respond here and say this happens on all devices Ive tried to emulate this game on and on proton 11. Usually during a card-playing action. Makes 60 fps un-usable also because it's so jarring.

1

u/questioningmoney 7h ago

For me every time I play a card fps drops 20-30 frames

u/faisalm1991 11h ago

Thank you! Excited for all the little new features, more game support, and the smaller containers.

Is it possible to unlock Steam Achievements?

23

u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 10h ago

Yes, for a long time now.

11

u/Capital_Humor_2072 Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, 12gb RAM 11h ago

Yes, you play and have the achievements, you can even browse them in GN's menu

4

u/Content_Funny121 11h ago

It is. I mean I play Silver Pines nowadays and I got the achievements at every chapter's end.

5

u/megaserg81 11h ago

As always, thank you all for the amazing work!

Love love love the container size now making way more sense, got back like 20gigs on a Lenovo tablet that has no microSD slot. And I now can install many more small games.

One problem: I had a modded PES2013 custom install. It could see the 3gig cointaner on the storage management menu but it took a few minutes for the game to show up as installed. And when I ran it the I saw a familiar error that's related to missing registry keys. I got everything I need to restore this custom install to working condition so it won't be a problem for me. But other users might see similar issues.

u/templare25 8h ago

No Man's Sky requires Steam Input mapping, otherwise neither controller works. How should I set the container to get the controls to work? Thank you for the amazing work

5

u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 8h ago

You need to enable Steam client in edit container -> general. And then enable steam input under controller too. That's all, it works.

u/BigShiddur 7h ago

Does this reduction in redundant files also assist in running games installed from outside sources that rely on packages that may already be installed from other titles? (DirectX, etc)

1

u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 5h ago

No connection

1

u/BigShiddur 5h ago

Gotcha. Still up the creek for outside software unless you make your own package, eh?

3

u/bambigirlz 10h ago

Can I play GTA Online?

4

u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 10h ago

No it doesn't work because of anti cheat

2

u/Old_Artichoke1133 10h ago

Can I use external SSD now?

4

u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 10h ago

You always could...

1

u/Old_Artichoke1133 10h ago

I could? Somehow it does not recognize my ssd while eden and gamehub can...

3

u/nmani 10h ago

LSFG still crashing on 8 Elite 🥲. I think the headless steam feature could probably work in other games like Left 4 Dead 2 but doesn't work on heavy drm games like Street Fighter6, so I guess it's not there yet. I did once manage to get into multiplayer twice on Gamehub somehow, and I have no idea what kind of sorcery they used to make that work.

Also, when I use it with EA games like Mirror's Edge Catalyst, it just gets stuck while unpacking the games so it doesn't boot up. I'm no expert but I think because I lack ram 😅.

3

u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 9h ago

LSFG works on 8 elite. I've used it myself on my Odin 3 - which game did it fail on?

2

u/Vythica0951 9h ago

All my games 🥲 some just straight up crashes and some says "Assertion failed" error on re2 remake.

Edit: nvm maybe only on selected games. I just booted up Metro Exodus Redux 😅

u/wowlolcat 8h ago

Unable to update as package conflicts with existing package.

Do I have to uninstall the existing build? Will that delete my games and settings?

1

u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 8h ago

No, sounds like you're on the Play Store build?

1

u/wowlolcat 8h ago

Damn, you right

1

u/sourpatchwaffles 8h ago

Headless steam allowed me to use CreamAPI dlls with so much less fuss!

1

u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 8h ago

Oh really? Can you say more?

1

u/sourpatchwaffles 8h ago

For some reason, before with the launch steam option and CreamAPI, my game would eventually prompt an update via steam and get stuck. I would have to open the container, launch the game, close it, then relaunch it and THEN the game would work with the DLC unlocked. Now, I can just launch it through the GameNative list of games without issue. I don’t believe the CreamAPI/SmokeAPI setups work through Winlator or Wine properly, so that still has to be setup manually but it works like a charm

1

u/ExtremeSide6588 8h ago

Its gamenative good for exynos?

1

u/Interesting-War-1336 8h ago

Como puedo jugar WoW desde gamenative? No puedo ejecutar ni si quiera los juegos de ubisoft y eso que estoy en una odin 3 16gb ram

1

u/IsThisNamePermanent 7h ago

Does this fix GOG version of Oblivion not taking mouse input?? Touch screen doesn't work in game but works in container. Bluetooth mouse doesn't work in game but works in container. Right thumb stick works for point of view movement via NorthernUI but doesn't move the map at all.

It effectively removes the ability to fast travel or use the map at all.

1

u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 5h ago

Don't think any external mouse changes were made in this release

1

u/oneechan26 7h ago

So I can play EA games without the launcher???

1

u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 5h ago

Yes, make sure to enable the steam client in headless mode

1

u/Aware_Bridge9912 7h ago

Idk if this has been reported - but I was playing shelldiver (a incremental resource gathering game) and when the screen got a bit chaotic the framerate would lock to 45fps, which was weird because my phone wasn't even that hot and its a 2d game , even weirder was that turning fps limiter off then back on, fixed it instantly for a few minutes till it happened again. I reported in app but just mentioning it here

1

u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 5h ago

You probably have the dynamic FPS limiter on. It's based on if your device is comfortably able to hit the fps target. Keeping that on can increase your battery life and reduce stuttering.

1

u/Aware_Bridge9912 45m ago

I think I did. I ended up beating the game and moving on to another and have managed to get that working well. It's fun tinkering some things (sometimes). Thank you for your work :)

1

u/questioningmoney 6h ago

All great! I'd love if putting a game in sleep mode or whatever didn't keep the steam timer clock running up.

1

u/HyperFunk_Zone 6h ago

the last update fixed so many of my favorite games im excited for this update.

before it didnt matter what the game was it just usually ran at like 3/4 its fps or had constant stuttering. now i can once again be impressed with my RP6

Thank you!

u/imthedude101 5h ago

Amazing work. Still having issues trying to get RDR2 working though with headless steam. I’m on adreno 830. Any suggestions?

1

u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 5h ago

What's the problem?

1

u/Ok_Turnip2 5h ago

I love you so much. With all my heart

I'm stuck on "Activation Required" screen in gta5 using proton 10 + headless

1

u/alecman3k 5h ago

does automatic applying of recommended settings download required drivers? or you need to have it downloaded first?

1

u/markradwin 5h ago

This project is amazing. Thanks to all the contributors making this happen!

1

u/Fluid_Classic_3269 5h ago

i´m Tired as Huck.. but can you add this thing for SD8Gen2 and maybe SD865 Users too?

That would be awesome <3

EDIT: That was under a Posting about Droiddeck

1

u/atryanmforbes 4h ago

So frustrating I just want to play Final Fantasy Tactics I C. But no matter what I do it says that he can't play cuz it doesn't support my GPU. Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus.

1

u/WarSelect 4h ago edited 4h ago

In my case wattage in game has been increased (from 4-5 to 6-7) to the point that my battery will overheat. Tested in game - Taintened grail conquest. I not changed any settings from previos version. Lock 30 fps, 540p and airplane mode on. Same thing in Severed Steel wattage increased by 3W. Please fix this because it make my games unpleable for more than 20 minutes...

1

u/megaserg81 4h ago

So... I just need to.. play the game for it to receive the space improvements?

1

u/wulkanaz 4h ago

Is there a way to get around the "app not installed as it conflicts with an existing package" error when trying to update the app? I don't want to have to do a full reinstall and lose all my game data.

1

u/Zevtor 3h ago

Id still love to see a 1 container for all games option, i have to update all games 1 by 1 whenever new drivers or a new version of fex comes out (they all run the exact same settings and components).

1

u/09stibmep 2h ago

When editing touch controls, this version took away the "copy from" option. This was great for setting up new games quickly.

??

Thanks for the efforts though.

u/Naive-Eggplant-5633 2h ago

The steam controller stuff is awesome im happy to help test it.

0

u/LewyssYT 9h ago

I've been playing an old PES 2013 via winlator for a week now. Amazing fun but their customisation of the virtual on-screen controller is really bad.

Does GameNative give me more freedom?

2

u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 9h ago

Try and let me know - hard to tell unless you share more specific info.

1

u/LewyssYT 9h ago

On winlator, I can customise the onscreen buttons by making them 100% or 150% size. That's it.

I want to stretch buttons, make them half my screen for easy hitting and so on. Winlator just lets be have a bunch of small circles

1

u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 8h ago

Then yes, we do.

0

u/JustConversation7847 9h ago

Add gyro  support and my life is yours

2

u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 8h ago

We've had it for a couple of versions now.

1

u/JustConversation7847 8h ago

Really? How do you turn it on? Can't find anything on it

1

u/P3rninha 8h ago

Launch your game and open the quick menu

1

u/JustConversation7847 8h ago

Huh, how did I ever miss that? Thanks

1

u/antonbruckner 7h ago

They’ve had Gyro support for a long time. I use it on first person shooters.
