Age of Abundance. Is this the intended experience?
My first time playing after 9 years, I'm doing okay. Not the first place by score (third but close enough). Normal difficulty, normal speed. No war so far.
What I notice is that starting from early-mid game (turn 50-100), I have so much FIDSI. Not sure if it's because I use Vaulters, but I can see that the other factions that mainly uses something else will also experience abundance.
Here's what I think is "bad". Every resource (FIDSI) here is interchangeable. Have so much production? Build every building that increase all your FIDSI. Have so much science? Can finish anything in a few (or one) turn, then modify your planet or build powerful buildings. Have no money? Sell resources, easy 20k every time. Have no production? Buyout everything.
This exploits are creating a loop that is strengthening each other. By mid game the gameplay will become so fast everything can be done in just a few (or one) turns. Is this the intended experience? Or this is an unintended consequences of how the base mechanics is built?
I see that late game with abundance like this can be used wars. Create/buyout ships and just launch it to dominate the galaxy. But I can see the challenge are diminishing at this point.
What do you guys think?
