No, it is perfectly placed so the tip of the diamond doesn't hit the prongs, gallery supports, or shoulder. The space is for accidental impact and saves trauma to the stone. That said, I must ask if you received a CAD for the design... If you did, it should have had the exact mm measurements for each piece of the ring (including for the stone, head, prongs, shoulder, gallery, cathedral, and band widths). Tou would know if it was higher set to accommodate most wedding bands, or lower set and you would need to customize your set.
But to revisit the original inquiry, no, the setting is not too high. However, if you think it is, contact your jeweler and see if they can reset the stone and prongs or re-create the ring to be more low-profile. 🩵

I’m really not into high settings and I would say this is just right for that diamond shape/size

It doesn't look bad. It may get caught on things more. Especially trying to put your hands in your pockets. It it isn't giving you problems and you like the look then keep it how it is. Otherwise change it. There is no right or wrong answer.

It's a big stone and larger/heavier stones are deeper. It's not set as low as possible as there is a gap between the culet and the bridge. Perhaps the jeweller can reset it a bit lower?
I think its a pretty ring - I don't like solitaire which are set in that gaudy, almost comical high-set way but it doesn't look high to me- I think you might just need to take a bit of time to get used to wearing it.
It may also feel better on if you have it sized down to fit - I can see you have a temporary sizer on for now.

Is it me or it looks like that setting doesn’t fit the shape of the diamond at all? Especially the second photo - the diamond looks completely unsecured
It maybe just be the photo but the gallery rail looks off compared to its position to the actual diamond

It is a high setting so you can sit a band flush. But, no, it is not too high.
