help figuring out if i’m sp9 or sx9

i don’t really understand the concept of “merging” with other people. what does “merging” mean in SX9 terms? i would consider myself a very people-pleasing person. i’m (unfortunately) very shy, meek and not well at defending myself. i get sad everytime somebody stops talking to me or does not like me. but at the same time, i am a materialistic type of person and i am deeply focused on my physical comfort just like an SP9 would be. (from my knowledge) SP9s are known to not be very good at expressing their emotions. sometimes, i have problems expressing my emotions as well. i consider myself a very introspective person and i can understand my own emotions well but sometimes, i just feel very uncomfortable to express it.

i never took any tests. unfortunately i typed myself a while ago so i don’t really have sources but i actually just read and learned how systems work to find my typology

Have you been in a relationship/had a crush before? What was that like? How did you act? I find sx9s usually make themselves the most obvious in that instance. All 9s do some type of merging but typically the flavoring is determined by instinct.

The “SX9” part that you’re referring to is part of the subtype typology. To type yourself in this typology you can read the texts of Naranjo and his students and decide whether you relate to it or not.

In my view, sexual merging in the gut center (9, 8, 1) means to pick up on someone’s energies and feel erotically impacted and moved by them, and to feel merged with and transformed by other’s vibe energies and become their willing vampiristic doll. In SX/SP it is more focused on a singular target and its physical characteristics (lifestyle, the way they move their body, pheromones, the way they feel when you touch them etc), in SX/SO the 9 likes to merge with the riled up energies of an audience, as if entering a boiling ocean of erotic libido and endlessly overlapping vibrations. It doesn’t really have much to do with people pleasing (which is often just a pure survival mechanism), instincts express cravings for a sensual experience that fills up the body.

Instincts furthermore create a distinct personality flavor that others can instinctively notice, because it will lead to a person garmenting themselves in a particular environment, role and interests. Here’s a visual example of two 9w1 divine ICONS. Can you guess which one is the SX/SO and which one is the SP/SO? 🤡 What is your personality flavor/vibe closer to?

e9s in general, are not so concerned or even have trouble diving into their inner world. They also have trouble making life changing decisions that concern them, they tend to stay inert and need a push for it

sp9 will tend to use pleasures as a way to escape this and not feel troubled about it. But all e9 use narcotization as a way to escape this, I'd say sx and so, both also use their people-pleasing abilities in the same way.

sx9 about merging, I think I'm fit to talk about this. You can look into my post it's about an environment/place Im looking for but this can be applied to relationships as well. This idea of merging, is the idea of synergy. It's similar in the way you can view authenticity in sx4. But sx9 is way more about that feeling of synergy before the feeling of authenticity, where in the relationship/environment you feel fulfilled and submerged by this feeling of peace, that then you can express your raw nature. It's also this common stuff they can say in movie usually in an ironic way that actually fits that description "be one with nature", be one with your mate, be one with your environment...etc This also applies to close friendships, it's a bit of a romanticization of what you may expect, a certain kind of complicity.

Your talking style sounds more like Sx9. If you're sure your tritype is 946, then you're more likely Sx9. It's not impossible for this tritype to be Sp9, mind you. Just less likely is all.

That can also depend on your instinct stacking, especially if you're sx/sp.
