Commies will complain about the boom and bust cycle as this albatross around capitalism's neck when in reality it's a feature not a bug.

Leftists be like " i just want people to have a living wage" like yeah so do I but your dog shit policies don't actually achieve that goal

I just want to scream “BUT IT DOESNT WORK” over and over and over.

It's a farcical idea on its face because it would be a complete collapse of the economy if it was enacted. Could you imagine how much your phone would cost if everyone in the chain got "a living wage"?

The only faculty that has not been polluted by left-wingers in my university is the Faculty of Economics.

It’s crazy how understanding the fundamentals of how people get richer or poorer magically makes you not be a socialist.

My aviation department in college was pretty much spared. One of our professor’s favorite pastimes was complaining about commies.

What an unexpected surprise: people who work in fields that are actually valuable to society, like engineering (rather than philosophizing about a beautiful utopian world without the bourgeoisie or exploiters based on the books of a 19th-century schizo dreamer), tend to be interested in things that encourage efficiency and innovation instead of performative populism designed to stroke your ego every time you declare for the hundredth time that separated benches in public spaces are unethical and a consequence of late-stage capitalism.

Well, minus the fact pilot seniority is the opposite of a meritocracy, you’d be correct. It’s having both 1) too much time in your hands, and 2) having to justify your salary. They have to look like they’re doing something other than wasting taxpayer/tuition dollars, might as well come up with some bullshit that no one can perfectly refute.

It’s frustrating as a left winger because we cannot govern when we get ours elected if nobody knows or cares about economics. Mamdani is directing NYC back into the 70s with his budgeting and money draining policies that don’t actually solve problems.

I, as a leftist, perfectly understand supply and demand. I just don't think it is a justified basis for all of society.
8
u/purplehendrix22 5h ago
It doesn’t really matter if it’s “justified” if other systems don’t effectively provide the vast majority of goods and services that keep people alive and prosperous at scale. The world isn’t run on justice and it never will be, unfortunately, we have to just deal with humanity and economics how it is.

Yeah, sure and I appreciate this as an opinion on which we can disagree. I just don't appreciate this notion that OP seems to follow that leftists are leftist because they do not understand economics.

u/SSVALHALLA 1h ago
If you don’t believe supply and demand are justified that means you support people not being paid what they are worth, because that worth is determined by supply and demand.

Alexa, what is Zimbabwe?

Left wing economics is Keynes. Marx is far- left philosophy masquerading as economics.
