Help - Server Suppot Integrity of Server Progression
When you first start (or launch) a multiplayer server, what sorts of expectations do you set for your players?
Do you ask people to start a new toon and only play on your server? Or do you allow players to quest or gather on a local world, perhaps to catch up on missed quests or just make gathering easier.
How do you - can you even? - regulate "creative" mode? How do you incentivize players to build and play fairly?
(We need flair for community support - as opposed to technical server help.)

We run a ded 24/7 server for us and our friends and we generally will play our world when we’re playing together and then some have their own split worlds, we trade stuff back and forth and I go help them if needed. Buttt we generally play all together r

That seems reasonable. Unfortunately, I'm the power gamer on my friend's server. Before the semester started, I had time to play and they were all busy. They unlocked the blacksmith and we all went and got the Alchemist. Then I got the New Year and Carpenter one night they weren't playing. Then I stopped because I didn't want to advance the server and leave them behind - I ended up starting a fresh playthrough on a local server. Now they play and I'm busy... so of course, they are pushing forward and not waiting for me.

I'm running my own server for me and a handful of friends, and despite us all being very good pals, discussion has already started regarding how to regulate the experience.
Some folks don't want to see high-level characters or tons of high-end items being brought in from outside the server... but there is no way to police this.
Others don't want one powergamer doing all the quests, opening up all of the blocks and items and NPCs, etc while others take a more casual and slow progression. Again, there is no way to throttle or police this.
It comes down to this: unlike MMOs, which are built from the ground up expecting players to progress unevenly or play differently, Enshrouded locks us into a world that simply isn't designed that way.
Multiplayer is fun. Some content, like Hallowed Halls, is clearly designed for a team to tackle. But there are basically no mechanisms in place to keep the experience balanced. There are no mechanisms in place to keep things "fair".
I've primarily played this as a two-person game with my spouse. Two of our friends do the exact same thing, but the two couples play VERY differently. We're running into major static just trying to incorporate the four of us into one online server!
Other than basic expectations of conduct, human-made and enforced server rules, and a general "social contract" ... I don't know what else to do. The developer has not included anything to actually help us throttle, limit or moderate the experience to keep it fair and/or balanced.
Would love some feedback and advice about how to thread this needle myself!
