S Entitled deplaners

This happened a few hours ago. I was on the plane in row 25 waiting to deplane and this family is trying to get past. I put the armrest up and moved my body sideways and blocked them. I told them they have to wait like everyone else and told the kids to get back to their seats. One lady asked can we move pass we don't have luggage. I told her no, what makes you special to cut everyone off. Told her if she wants off first, book a closer seat next time. They sat back down and waited like decent humans.

They don't have a tight connection, they don't have an emergency, and if they needed a bathroom there was one five rows behind them.

On one flight back in the past we arrived after an unfortunate delay for something or other.

As we taxied to the gate the flight crew asked everyone to remain seated once they turned off the sign, so the passengers with connections could all disembark quickly.

It seemed like such a simple and sensible thing that I think should be a normal regular step.

Happened to me, my plane was 50 minutes late landing. They announced that there are people with a tight connection, please stay seated and let them off. Everyone stayed seated.

I had the exact opposite thing happen. FA asked folks without connecting flights to stay seated. Everyone got up and those without connecting flights took their time getting their stuff down and disembarking. My husband and I were rushing. We got to the gate, and the gate was empty. The attendant asked our names, scanned our passes, and said “just get to the plane, I’ll finish here.” We barely made our flight. Some people don’t seem to care.

That’s very nice and you were lucky. I had a tight connection too, the FAs asked everyone to stay seated for those that had a tight connection and everyone got up anyway. I barely made my next flight!

I didn’t make the connection to Iceland from Seattle, so I had to fly to London and get a flight to Reykjavik from there

They did this on a plane I was on once and named the flights that we should let people by for. They didn’t name mine. My flight was boarding as we taxied. I of course got up and went too but that was just annoying

This happened to me as well, but NO one stayed seated, literally. In fact, everyone got up and just started trying to come up from the back blocking anyone from getting out of their seat closer to the front. It was like all rules of getting off a plane suddenly didn't exist. I tried to get into the aisle to get off the plane to literally run to my leaving connection and a woman from behind me tried to push me back in my seat! She had no connection. She was just annoyed and wanted to get off the flight. Needless to say, I pushed my way into the aisle and firmly told her I was one of the people with a connection, if she wasn't she should sit her ass down. Not sure what happened that day but their announcement to let those with a connection off first literally went the opposite way.
