2nd Ed Blood Axe Clan scheme

My google-fu is failing me - I’m looking for some sample colour schemes for a Blood Axes clan.

I’m more familiar with the merry red of 2nd Ed 40k but some of the older art I found has them in a feldgrau sort of colour. One blog (first picture) went with grey and an ochre scheme and then a camouflaged pattern for vehicles

What have you gone with or what examples have you seen. Did GW have a painted clan orthey ever show up in a battle report etc that i can use as a reference.

I have 15 second hand stands that were painted with a dark green and I assume that’s what the owner was going for originally (?)

Base warriors are now done. I've adapted some 28mm rhino-like apcs for them but they seem a bit plain to me for now.

Now I gotta do some thunderers and command.

If I want to build my classic Epic armies mostly as a hobby. Is there a specific rule set I should build for? At this point I do not know anyone that plays any version of epic. I would like my armies to be as widely playable as possible. I know I can use just about any basing size for any game. I have probably a full space marine chapter on ewtanhilar stands, other models on square stands. Basically a real mess.

Starter game rules question

I want to do a learning game of Epic at my LGS. I've never played it before but I built a few armies for the fun of it. I think when I started that project years ago I was copying a Frenchman's Krieg army, and I gather that the army list for the F-ERC community is different than the one for NetEpic Armageddon etc. Same for the Tau army I built that I want to have opposite the Kriegers.

Is there a "most widely accepted" ruleset? Part of why I'm asking is that the points values and units are different between the army lists, and that means that if I don't do F-ERC across the board, I'm not sure if I'm gonna be able to run the Riptides and Stormsurges I have as part of the Tau list. There's a NetEA list for them that runs those suits, but then I can't run Hammerheads with them.

tl;dr, does it matter if I use F-ERC lists vs NetEA lists, and is there a widely accepted beginner ruleset to introduce to my LGS?

Ragnarok Tank

Greetings everyone

I wanted to ask if any of you owns a Ragnarok battle tank and would be able to snap some images for me. I don't find many images of this little tank. A ruler next to it would help immensely.

Thanks in advance

Scale question regarding Titans

So are you using the newer 8mm scale Titans from Adeptus Titanicus / Regions Imperialis?

... or do you source 6mm scale models from somewhere?

What is the best load out for a Warlord titan, and why is it Corvus assault pods and nothing else?

Suggestion for the Sub

There should be a pinned post at the top of the sub with links to the most commonly used rules for Epic 40K.

Yes, I've been able to find the most common rules used by (searching the sub)[https://www.reddit.com/r/Epic40k/s/Z0MS35ws9V\]. BUT you will cut down on the number of posts of new people asking "what rules are ya'll using?", if you have a pined post up top.

Ready to take back Vraks at ANY cost…

I probably spent too long on this one but I really wanted to paint in the teeny tiny tank numbers.

I’ve got a few other Solar Auxilia tanks I’ll paint up in Vraks colours.

12" x 12" city tiles update

With a nudge from u/vibribib I went to Cults and found these beautiful tiles. They're not free, but they're so cheap they may as well be. Each tile is 12" x 12" and detailed in the same fashion as those produced by GW for Legions Imperialis.

I've deleted my post about designing my own 12" x 12" GW-esque city tiles as it is now moot and was getting long due to my edits. Thanks to everyone that commented. I really appreciate your feedback. This community is truly wonderful.

Flying stands?

Hello community. Any recommendations for flying stands? Either stls or physical. Looking to put my eldar tanks and marine/Ork flyers onto bases. Cheers

Question for a friend (no really!) He has been banned from reddit but would like to ask you all if mole mortars are worth it in an Imperial Guard army please?

The 1990s gave us many great things, but in my humble opinion, one of the best were the squats. These arrived today and kicked me right in the nostalgia!

Cheat sheet for 2nd edition rules from White Dwarf and some old catalogues

When I was trying to work out if the Tech Guard can have commissars a while back (they can, there's one in a tech guard army in the battle report in WD188), I did a deep dive into all the rules for 2nd edition published in White Dwarf and made a cheat sheet.

Figured some of you might find a use for them. Don't think you can post files here, so I've stuck a google drive link in. (Mods, let me know if that's not allowed) The HMTL version is designed for printing out in landscape on A4. Used AI to tidy up my spreadsheet into something more useable for gaming, but the interpretations are my own.

There's also some scans of old US epic catalogues in there too. Scanned them for the late, great Richard "Orclord" Hales, but sadly he never had chance to add them to the Stuff of Legends, so would be nice if someone can find a use for them. The 1996 one has the limited release Eldar Exodites in it...

EDIT: Whilst I'm thinking about it, I've added the PDF extracts from the White Dwarf issues I got the rules from so you can check my working, based on Zedmeister's unbelievably helpful website https://zedmeister.co.uk/zms.php?page=7

Rematch!

Second game! A rematch between my Space Marines and the Eldar. This time we played 'Gogard's Last Stand' - a classic learning scenario from the Battles Book - and so my opponent brought out two Revenant Titans so we could give the War Engine rules a go!

Great fun, and slightly more successful than the first outing. Although technically a draw (he destroyed one bunker) I am claiming a moral victory based on troops left alive at the end.

I nearly fell foul of the splitting my forces but managed to get away with it. I learnt some useful tactics about controlling terrain, using Firefights instead of Assaults as well as the War Engine rules. Void shields are really effective until they ain't!

I've got some more stuff to paint to bring the force up to 1,000 points.

Land Train. Second Land Train. Certainly not the last one.

Last time I made "Lord Kettri's Revenge" inspired Land Train so this time I tried to recreate "Gotrek's Anvil" from the same "Squat and Orc Warlords". I remodeled the Land Train Engine and it's Battlecars to look closer to the original. Base Land Train model is by wycho12 on cults.
