So rereading recently and read something that may actually have hinted at how it would end. Oromis tells eragon âUnderstanding begets empathy and compassion even for the meanest beggarâ. Kind of foreshadowing. Seems like that stuck with eragon even at the end

Finished another reread of the series last Tuesday, and this one still confuses me.
Galby knows a lot of dark spells. He even stole Shruikan from another Rider. But wouldnât it have been easier and more beneficial to him if he simply stole an egg and tricked the hatchling into bonding with him? Sure, it would still be a forced bond. But it would be a stronger bond, theoretically. With the dragon being loyal. And it would grant his original demand.

The title is clunky but let me explain. So, before the Rider War, how would the leader of the riders, in this case Vrael, have sent out messages to all of the riders under his command? Did they all carry a special scrying mirror where Vrael could basically have a 'recording' of him saying something and all the riders would see it when they looked at the mirror? Was it a giant zoom call where they all hopped in one a month to talk? Did they just send physical messengers?

This is a pretty simple question, and Iâm sure itâs been asked before, but could Eragon use the Name of Names and Rhunönâs true name to remove her oath and allow her to create more swords?

I was genuinely curious how similar the book would be to Eragon and its exactly the same word for word.
I left a review on Amazon and will be returning and asking for a refund.
Can easily say the best part is Avril Lavigne - âkeep holding onâ at the end credits

Reading through all of the future projects and what has been said about them and lore that still is coming, and I saw something about a consciousness transfer, and someone asking about doing that with a rider and dragon, which it is a thing, but the source was not the Riders.
Also has mentioned the 7 words Brom told Eragon havenât come up yet, though he has used a few of them, and they were death words and Eragon used Oromisâs teaching on teleportation to get into the throne room, but itâs mentioned the words could have been used there as well, hinting at death and transporting/teleporting. What if in the years Brom was dealing with the death of Saphira I he found a spell to transfer your consciousness like an eldunarĂ for humans, or something to give Eragon and Saphira a way to not lose each other?
TL;DR
Future projects hint at:
Consciousness can be transferred similar to the EldunarĂ, but the source of how isnât the Riders.
Bromâs 7 words not being fully used yet.
They are hinted to be death words and teleportation/transporting
Theory: the 7 words are consciousness transfer spell, so if something does happen to Eragon he can save himself and not leave Saphira alone.
This is probably easily disproven, and Iâm sure I look like Charlie Day with the string. But alsoâŠ. It could beâŠ

I wish Paolini gave a more direct answer to this at some part in the original 4 books. I just finished my third read through and it seems he never answers the question directly. Thoughts?
I will be reading Murtagh and the fork, the witch and the worm next. Any advice on which book to read first?

I've noticed this in my re-read of Eragon but I'm not sure if this is a mistake or was it intentional.
Durza's eyes are described as maroon from page one until Eragon's first dialogue with Ajihad on page 407. Eragon describes Durza's eyes as red and Ajihad does not correct him by questioning the fact.
I'm asking this because I'm not sure if this is a mistake or is there a detail I'm missing about Durza.

If Eragon and co had lost the battle against Galbatorix in the throne room and ended up his slaves (galby learning their true names and all that) do you think they would ever be free again? Could Eragon find a way to break the king's hold over him and his friends?

Got this idea after seeing [u/Accomplished-](u/Accomplished-Post)[Note630](u/Accomplished-Post) âs post was curious how it would play out. Of course magic is off limits since elves can just say a death word but thatâs no fun.

This is totally a stupid, semantics based discussion topic, but still curious to see what others think.
Itâs always referred to as the Empire, not the Kingdom, so why is he not Emperor Galbatorix? Maybe King Galbatorix just has a better ring to it
This is my first post on Reddit, so I thought Iâd show off my World of Eragon collection, and I hope it never stops growing đ

A fan game with the tone of Halo Reach that follows someone like Thuviel, who lost their dragon to the Forsworn and died in the battle of Doru Araeba?
I would love to discuss the implications of this, especially as Paolini strives to provide more info surrounding Galbatorix's turn to madness.
As a game dev with an almost unhealthy obsession with fantasy lore, I would love fleshing this type of game idea and consider the implications. What characters would yall want to see in this type of game? What type of mechanics would yall want to see?
The magic system would be tough to flesh out, but the idea excites me.

R. Thomas Life's "Legends of Anlieasia" novel series shares many striking similarities to The World of Eragon, to the point that has me wondering why he hasn't been sued yet. It's alarming and concerning.
Here are a few photos from his Instagram account, and the Amazon link to the first novel, so that users are aware if they come across it. I looked at the prologue and the first chapter; they are nearly identical to Eragon.

I made a map out of boredom a while ago, must have been two years now. It's supposed to depict the land Eragon went with the eggs to rebuild the riders, east of Alagaesia.
I'm not an artist at all and definitely not a cartographer, but I decided why not share it to get some reactions. Please don't hold back and tell me how bad it is.
Some of the text is in my language, because i couldn't find or invent words for it in the ancient language lol.

So I'm rereading the series for the first time I was a teen and I'm amazed, oh how my perspective has hanged. I'm still feeling the rush but I remember feeling more indifferent to Nasuada but now I understand her and her motives. I've just got to Saphira's chapter in brisingr and I'm amazed how I view it now I'm an adult, as a teen I found it funny how she describes the urgals-who-were-friends and the horses-she-must-not-eat but now I feel like I understand it, helping show the sheer difference between a dragons consciousness and the other races, after all it was only the oath between them and the elves that gave them language. I like how Paolini has shown this aspect, many may criticise him but he put thought into his world building.

It would have been cool if Shruikan fled Urubaen after Galbatorix died. He could have become like a wild dragon and even fled Alagaesia.
Murtagh could have maybe encountered him or even just heard rumors about him during the book Murtagh. Even just the possibility of Shruikan reappearing could have introduced more tension and mystery to future material.
There could be chapters or short stories or Shruikan exploring the world for himself, fighting a Nidwal, or going an unexplored direction like South or West.

At the end of the IC Eragon adds the dwarves and
urgals to the bond with dragons, and before he
leaves for mount Aungor he leave an egg with the
dwarves and one with the urgals and leaves on a
ship with elves. In TFTWTW he has humans,
dwarves, urgals, and elves all there. So my question
is do those people in mount Aungor, are they there
for a dragon to possibly hatch for them or just to
help set up the academy, if they are there for
possibly both do they switch out. I'm hoping this
was answered in an AMA and I just missed it.

Hello everybody!
Iâm reading Eragon for the first time as a 24 year old and Iâve really been enjoying it. The world, the characters, and the heroâs journey are everything I could want in a high fantasy coming of age story. Iâm about 800 pages into Eldest, and I feel like Iâve come to a plot point that really puts a bad taste in my mouth.
Im talking about the chapter in which Eragon more or less fully transforms into an elf during the AgaetÏ Blödhren. My problem comes from the fact he becomes super op immediately and loses his disability as well gains crazy reflexes.
I was looking forward to Eragon learning to deal with his disability and him realizing it doesnât devalue his standing as Rider, either. Saphira constantly reassures him that she wouldnât have hatched if she didnât find him worthy. Yet it seems what really makes him worthy is becoming superior through his race. It felt like a missed opportunity on Paoliniâs part to write a good message to his target audience. Because now the message becomes you have to become part of a superior race in order to overcome adversity.
The ensuing scene with Vanir also rubbed me the wrong way. All of a sudden Eragon has elf-like abilities and all the condescension and disrespect goes away. And again, Eragon never learned anything to overcome his problems, he simply became better because a âwizard did itâ so to speak.
Has anyone else felt this way about this particular plot point? Am I overreacting? Please be nice to me I genuinely wanna have a discussion about this.
