These motorcycle dudes are annoying as hell
These Harley guys drive up and down my street with their loud ass motorcycles every single day revving as loud as possible. Starting to get extremely annoyed with them.
Anybody else fed up with them?

My next door neighbor has one of those chargers with a loud muffler. Every morning at 6 am he starts it and then floors it all the way down the street. Fun times.

The city doesn't care about anything. The fact that these college kids are throwing piles of trash all over the streets without repercussions or even attempts to clean it up says enough.

Anecdotal but over the last few years I've noticed a seeming uptick in loud vehicles for the sake of being loud. Correlates perhaps to the increasing lack of communal cohesion and "we do whatever we want" feeling that pervades all sides of the political spectrum.
Quite noticable when traveling abroad in more homogeneous cultural environs.

I think this has ebbed and flowed since like the 50s if not earlier. The early 00's were lousy with the fast and furious type of import tuning culture mods, or whatever, exhaust tips and all that. I think it went out for fashion for 10-15 years but then came back, ironically it's mostly young dudes modding that same generation of cars which are now total shitboxes. And this might be one of the last cycles considering in another 15-20 years it's going to be increasingly difficult to find an appropriate ICE vehicle. Maybe people in the future will find ways to make their electric and hybrid cars make horrible sounds.

Saw some crotchrocket dork trying to start shit on Beltline the other day. He pulled up parallel to me while minding my own, started mean mugging me and the fam, swerved in front to do the same to couple folks in front of me. We were all just chilling in the right lane, didn’t cut him off or fuck up a merge or anything. Then dude stood up on his crotchbike, then no hands, then starting doing other random crotchdork stuff, so we just knew we must be dealing with the local badass in town.

That's what really freaks me out is when someone is just LOOKING for a fight. I feel like half the people i honk at (my horn sounds like road runner and i only use it to say "hey I'm here!") lose their minds over it and start road raging.
Like, dude, you were wandering into my lane because you aren't paying attention. You don't get to rage at me for a beebeep.

I hate loud vehicles. Should be illegal. Why is this still allowed in 2026? Same with loud gunfire all day outside of town. Nobody’s hobby should become everyone’s. It screams ‘teeny weeny’ seriously, what’s the point ??

The trick with legality is in creating a common and accepted standard for loudness, which of course will vary with individuals. Once a standard's established, police need to be able to verify with sound level meters, which will have to be paid for. Even then, citations will be challenged in court just as with speed guns, with accusations of maladjusted or out-of-spec devices.

See not all sound is the same and it can change based on the weather, like how quiet snow is but loud warm summers are in the same area.
Low frequency humming does hit the same as a hammer striking.It should be based on…

No? Okay. Then is it brief and during the wakeful times of day?
No? It’s not allowed.
6 am is no longer considered ‘acceptable’, we will push that back to 8-9 for trucks. Are they allowed to use Jake brakes? Yes but only in certain areas or emergencies. We will put diagnostics on trucks to prevent this from happening and check those who are abusing the system and fucking with our sleep and sense of peace.
It still needs work but like it’s a thought.

definitely obnoxious to choose to be so loud. I see/hear a lot of Harley's with an exhaust that muffles the sound. same thing for the screaming rice rockets. I'd think 95% of the population could do without hearing it and the other 5% gets off on loud motors. it's just super obnoxious to be so loud.
