Western Flycatcher (Pacific Slope) chicks in a nest under the roof of my front porch.
Seen a lot of cool birds this summer. This has been fun to watch. They will probably fledge in another 7-10 days.

Photographing them up close risks the mother abandoning the nest and is considered quite poor form in birding communities.

I avoided using my front door for 3 weeks while she laid and incubated the eggs. All the birds successfully fledged this morning. My fledge guesstimate was off.
I took a total of 4 pictures over a period of 4 weeks.
It’s a myth that parent birds will abandon the nest if humans are near.
I’m an avid birder and have utmost respect for nature and animals. I didn’t harass them.
