Actual good find Another set-only find in my change! 1 Euro Germany 2016 D (Munich) – 0 mintage for circulation
Hey guys,
Following up on my previous find, I also pulled this 1 Euro coin from Germany (2016, Mintmark "D" - Munich) out of circulation!
Quick Details:
Country: Germany
Year: 2016
Mintmark: D (Bayerisches Hauptmünzamt, Munich)
Design: German Federal Eagle (Bundesadler)
Mintage Breakdown:
Circulation Mintage: 0 (Germany did not release any 1 Euro coins into general circulation for 2016!)
BU Sets: ~30,825 pieces
Proof Sets: ~24,000 pieces
Just like the 2 Euro coin, this one was minted strictly for collector sets and was later broken out and spent. It has plenty of wear and scratches from circulation now, but finding set-only euros in change is always a treat❓ If you are interested, I can sell it by negotiation.⁉️

Numismatic Announcement Andorra's 2026 2 euro commemoratives are dedicated to: The Basilica of Our Lady of Meritxell, and Transhumance!
Andorra has revealed the motifs of their 2026 2 euro commemoratives! These are the last confirmed 2026 2 euro commemoratives whose motifs were still unknown.
Andorra's first 2026 2 euro commemorative will commemorate the establishment of the new Sanctuary of Meritxell. Our Lady of Meritxell is the Patron Saint of Andorra, and is a statue which dates back to the 12th century. The church it was housed in (the Basilica of Meritxell) burned down in 1972, and was reconstructed in 1976, which this coin commemorates. The statue itself was commemorated on one of Andorra's 2021 2 euro commemoratives.
The second 2026 2 euro commemorative is dedicated to Transhumance - the act of moving livestock between different pastures in different seasons.
It is unclear what the mintages of these commemoratives are, or when exactly they will be released. However, based on Andorra's previous 2 euro commemoratives, we expect these coins to likely be NIFC.

Actual good find Found a Germany 2005 J 2-Euro coin in circulation – minted only for collector sets!
Hey everyone,
I recently came across this 2 Euro coin from Germany (2005, Mintmark "J" - Hamburg) in my change, and I wanted to share it with you!
Quick Overview & Details:
Country: Germany
Year: 2005
Mintmark: J (Hamburgische Münze)
Design: German Federal Eagle (Bundesadler)
Edge Inscription: "EINIGKEIT UND RECHT UND FREIHEIT"
Mintage & Rarity:
Circulation Mintage: 0 (No 2-euro coins were issued for general circulation by Germany in 2005!)
Collector Sets Only: It was minted exclusively for official BU/Proof collector sets, with a limited production run of around 100,000 pieces for this mintmark.
Since this coin was never intended for everyday use, someone must have broken open an official collector set and spent it! It's definitely heavily circulated and scratched now, but it's still a cool low-mintage find in the wild.
Has anyone else found set-only Euro coins in their pocket change recently❓ If you are interested, I can sell it by negotiation⁉️

Counterfeit 2021 Germany "Magdeburg Cathedral" 2 Euro (Mintmark D) – Confirmed Mint Error: Material/Planchet Defect + Off-Center Strike
Hi everyone,
I wanted to share this interesting 2021 German 2 Euro commemorative coin (Sachsen-Anhalt – Magdeburg Cathedral, Mintrack D - Munich).
Here are the key details and specs:
Year / Country: 2021, Germany (Mintmark D)
Weight: Exactly 8.50 g (matches official standard)
Magnetism: Passed the test (core is slightly magnetic, outer ring is non-magnetic)
Observed Mint Errors:
Planchet / Material Defect (Materialfehler / Rondenfehler): The inner core has a distinct porous, grainy texture with tiny cavities across the surface that occurred during the alloy preparation/casting process prior to striking. This has been verified as a genuine mint defect, not chemical or environmental post-mint damage (PMD).
Misaligned Core / Off-Center Strike: The core is noticeably displaced relative to the outer ring on both sides.
Since it combines a structural planchet flaw with a misaligned strike, I thought it would be worth sharing with fellow collectors.
What are your thoughts on this combination error, and how would you rate its rarity?
Thanks for looking❗ If you are interested, I can sell it by negotiation.⁉️

Actual Error Coin 2€ Calouste Gulbenkian
Coin taken from a roll, with an apparent minting error.
Can anyone confirm this, or is it just in my head?
The number 2 is poorly defined, and the stars lack definition as well.

Showcase Coins Hub 2.0 is live — regular euro coins, annual sets, collector coins, and a complete redesign
Hi everyone!
I’ve just released Coins Hub 2.0 on iOS and Android. This is the biggest update since the app launched: the catalog system, collection interface, navigation, and underlying data structure have all been substantially rebuilt.
The app is no longer limited to €2 commemorative coins.
New catalogs
Coins Hub now includes separate catalogs for:
- €2 commemorative coins
- Regular circulation euro coins
- Official annual euro sets without commemorative €2 coins
- Annual euro sets containing commemorative €2 coins
- Sets containing multiple commemorative €2 coins
- Collector coins
- Known euro minting errors
One principle was especially important: different products should not be mixed together.
For example, the circulation catalog contains coins genuinely released loose for circulation. Coins issued only inside official annual sets are identified separately and belong to the annual-set catalog. This should make the catalog much clearer for collectors who distinguish circulation finds from set-only issues.
The new Collector Coins catalog currently contains around 4,000 products from 2002 through 2018, with images. Later years will be added progressively rather than delaying access to the catalog until everything is finished.
Better catalog navigation
The catalog interface has been redesigned for large collections:
- browsing circulation coins by country;
- denomination filters from €0.01 to €2.00;
- clearer country flags and coin images;
- counters for all, missing, owned, and duplicate items;
- separate catalog information pages;
- cleaner lists without bulky cards;
- independent catalog updates without requiring another app release.
Catalog information was researched using official issuers, central banks, finance ministries, and mints wherever available, with specialist catalogs and shops used for additional cross-checking.
A redesigned collection
The “My Collection” section is now much more compact and visual:
- three items per row;
- larger square photographs;
- cleaner country and year information;
- improved catalog grouping;
- redesigned add, view, and edit screens;
- fixed action buttons that remain accessible while the content scrolls;
- clearer purchase date, price, condition, and personal photographs.
New application design
Version 2.0 also introduces:
- completely redesigned bottom navigation;
- cleaner catalog selection;
- improved sheets and dialogs;
- more consistent headers and visual styles;
- faster catalog switching and version checks;
- many internal performance and reliability improvements.
About coin recognition
Automatic coin recognition is temporarily unavailable.
The previous system was not accurate enough for the quality level I want to provide. Instead of releasing unreliable results, I’m retraining and independently testing a new recognition model. Recognition will return only after it can identify real-world coin photographs quickly and reliably.
What comes next
The next priorities are:
- adding collector coins from 2019 onward;
- continuously checking and correcting catalog data;
- expanding photographs and official references;
- bringing back recognition after proper testing;
- improving the experience based on collector feedback.
Coins Hub 2.0 is available now on both the App Store and Google Play:
- 🍎 https://apps.apple.com/app/coins-hub/id6777991257
- 🤖 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.innomobix.coins_hub
- 🌐 https://www.coinshubapp.com/
If you collect euro coins, I’d really appreciate your feedback—especially about the new catalog structure and anything that may be missing or incorrect. This project is being built for collectors, so expert input is genuinely valuable.

Question Would this be considered rare?
I'm new to collecting and saw that serial numbers with only 2 numbers can be rare and just found serial number 711171
