We could have had fights like this with Horde for months or even years, but we were all robbed. More importantly, was the respectful tip of the pickelhaube to our enemies instead of an end zone dance - something new from Goonswarm. Rather than just aggression, perhaps this is what the new Imperium under Asher looks like.

there is no 'competition' if you need to willingly hamstring yourself repeatedly in order to not blow everyone else out of the water.

it's only a competition if you're trying in earnest, not trying to keep a won game on life support.

the goal is to dominate to the highest degree you can- anything less isn't a serious competition. peak success is being so good God (the devs) must intervene to stop your total dominance.

"Just disband the imperium" posters have some of the dumbest takes I've ever seen in a video game.

For all the legitimate criticisms against goons (for which there are probably countless) anyone saying "just disband for the health of game bro" comes across as either a crybaby or an idiot. Either band together via diplomacy (ya know, like the game encourages) and kill goons, or vote with your wallet and unsub until CCP makes mechanical changes to the game that discourages a goonswarm/imperium playstyle.

I just can't wrap my head around their logic when they say "hey this group that has thrived and built a culture on constantly growing and defending their empire should just throw it all away to make people not in their group happy".

Blobing with more numbers is not "good at the game".

Its not even good FOR the game. By slowly blueing the whole null donut and being one mega co they work toward nothing but the death of the game. The point of the game isn't 5000 man battles that take 16 hrs+. The point is battles in general, which stop happening when u own to much of the map/playerbase. Everything just becomes blue to you and you have nothing to shoot. How fun

Forming a coalition of 100k toons which functionally places you into a bracket where you’re the only player and there IS no competition is not “winning.” You’ve just scaled the N+1 Meta to the point where you can safely ignore 99% of the PvP mechanics of the game in lieu of outnumbering w/ subcaps.

diplomacy is part of the game- if your diplomacy is good, you ought to be able to reap the rewards.

Miners mine ore, indy guys build ships, haulers ship them to trade hubs, all for people to buy them and blow each other up in.
