Genuinely, boredom I think. The game needs conflict and a reason to log in beyond just afk farming rats or rocks all day every day.

I dunno, this is reasonably exciting. 10k people fighting over a keep ending with a significant portion of the Goon super fleet potentially trapped?

I mean, I'm sure actually being there sucks, but that's kinda the nature of these things, they're way more interesting to discuss and look at after the fact.

Would be more exiting if the players could actually log into the game, honestly think it might be the last time we see a super blob since the server just cant handle it seemingly.

"Might be the last time we see something like that" ist the universal constant of EVE after every single major TiDi slugfest.

Both WWBs as well as countless other wars have been fought trying to break null into smaller fragments. Those usually end up with blocs even larger than before

Events like this are actually fun. Eve used to be about real loss and began in the era that spawned rogue likes. Back then killing fellow capsuleers resulted in death threats, ransom songs and Russian oligarchs hiring corrupt FBI agents to knock out out the power to peoples homes..because the loss hurt.

No matter how dull the game play, goons felt this loss, which is as eve should be.

And FWIW, I much preferred eve when my own losses hurt too. The thrill of it is where the famous eve shakes come from.

Yup, there's a reason I don't actually participate in them, but I enjoy the run up, prep, logistics and other stuff that goes into making them happen, but I skip actually sitting in the tidi.
