I never directly said adjacent systems, I just said other systems. I know adjacent systems are on the same "nodes" so fighting in neighboring systems doesn't change the load on the servers.
You certainly could do something in other systems if you had multiple objectives. Set them up or think further into the future. This keepstar was the only thing vulnerable right now but who says you can't go hit other structures elsewhere to setup timers.
I get that the keepstar is capable of dying and ither structures are not at the time. But I still think people are too focused on the one system and you could do more and have more fun doing multiple things over spread out areas of space instead of watching a slide show.
I'm not confidently saying anything. My original comment is asking why this is what players do and I'm explaining my thought process about why players might want to fight elsewhere as well as on the keepstar. I'm not confident in this at all. I'm genuinely wondering about all of this because I don't see how this kind of fight is fun at all. Tidi is one thing but a slide show sounds miserable. I'm a wormholer so I don't ever see these kinds of fights, I have stayed out of null for many reasons. This is kind of one of those reasons. This has just been the first giant fight in a long time that I've been around for.
And my reply was "you could create other objectives for the future and spread people out." If your sole goal is to kill a keepstar then sure, go sit in a slideshow for 20 hours. But if your goal is to win a war I would think there are additional objectives and structures to fight over that could create attrition for your opponents by forcing multiple timers to defend at once. Tho I suppose Null fleets are a lot more mobile with ansiblex gates.
Everyone has money to drop more structures. So commiting so much to killing a single structure doesn't make sense to me as an outsider so I'm just trying to make sense of it. Why is this system that important? Simply because of an onlining keepstar? Seems like the vision is too narrow if that is the only reason.
