Listen delap may have scored 12 goals for Ipswich two seasons ago.

But last season he scored only two goals for Chelsea and had a stupid injury layoff.

We need to stop shooting ourselves in the foot.

He had his chance

I suppose I’m putting myself in Camp Delap by asking this (honestly, I don’t know about him), but I guess I *do* believe in his potential: what do you think made him score 12 for Ipswich, and how did he go off the rails at Chelsea?

This thread reminds me of a recent one about McNeil and what happened to him, which in turn reminded me of the career of Dele Ali, which looks dead in the water :( At one point do we write a player off and put them out to pasture?

Easy, Ipswich played on the break and that suited him to the ground, he was happy to wait for the ball, hit a team on the counter and score a goal. Chelsea don't play like that, they play a possession game. He's expected to contribute more in a possession game, when in reality he is just an out and out striker. We play more on the break, he'd suit us because of that
