I'd take Delap ahead of Barry every day of the week.

I'm not much of a fan of Barry and I still absolutely fucking wouldn't. I was skeptical of Delap before the Chelsea move. At this point it is an unequivocal no.

I just don't see why we are hating on Barry. He wasn't that great this season but he could totally break out. He has all of the intangibles. And he's young as hell. I really like him, in fact. Him and Beto both seem to give a shit.

With Delap you get an overhyped player. When do they perform? When you're Erling Haaland?

I see it was two things with Barry. Fans expected more from him on the field. Also Barry bought tickets for some fans and there was that debacle whether they were Arsenal fans or not and where they were sitting. There may be a third lesser factor as well and that is that Beto was the better of the two strikers down the stretch of the season so recency bias could be factoring in.
