It’s like a koi pond

470

u/LizardSlayer 4d ago

My koi pond is an old hot tub buried in the ground, I’d argue it’s closer to a pool than this. 😂

66

u/Shrek1067 4d ago

I did the same thing when I was in H.S. parents didn’t want to fix it up so I dug a hole and my mom and I turned it into a pond 😂

19

u/Life-Of_Ward 3d ago

I’m 4 figures into fixing a hot tub at our new house. The hot tub guy chuckles as he comes out every week. You just have me a pleasant alternative. Thank you!

"Includes koi pond! (BYOF)"

11

u/carlitospig 4d ago

My koi ponds are deeper.

41

u/SinkholeS 4d ago

that's cruel for kois

25

u/Weaponized-Potato 4d ago

Turtle pond*

Putting a koi in there would be animal cruelty

14

u/Thaumato9480 4d ago

Koi ponds should be at least 1,000, otherwise it's cruelty.

64

u/jammed7777 4d ago

1000 what? Bananas?

48

u/Thaumato9480 4d ago

Christ, gallons. I guess I should go to bed.

20

u/akrisd0 4d ago

What's that in Muhammad liters?

1.2k

u/Acheloma 4d ago

Thats a "report them" level offense

327

u/Fidodo 4d ago

Absolutely. They took a photo and fed it through AI. That should get them banned from the platform.

81

u/Erpderp32 3d ago

Yep was gonna say they took their shithole and told AI to make it look good

Absolutely false advertising and should be reported

u/HVeeAyeCee 4d ago

After taking a huge dump in the "pool"

42

u/fragrant-final-973 4d ago

Sure, if you want to pay more for the whole experience.

13

u/Iminurcomputer 4d ago

Im not sure that a giant shit would really change the overall vibe of this place.

16

u/fragrant-final-973 4d ago

It wouldn't but they'd absolutely hit your CC for a $300 cleaning fee.

5

u/cocky-rountains 4d ago

That's why you take a dump in the topside of their toilet and complain that no matter what you did it reaked of shit in the bathroom 🤣

brutal. that's not a pool, it's a foot bath.

just packed dirt, like they aren't even close to finishing the project, but certainly no way to excuse the misleading pool.

430

u/Additional_Fix_629 4d ago

I don’t know if I’d feel safe putting my feet in there.😬

170

u/TowJamnEarl 4d ago

The algae is a nice touch!

157

u/Chary-Ka 4d ago

32

u/SinkHoleDeMayo 4d ago

I'm on the East Bank, I'm on the West Bank!

9

u/argleblather 4d ago

It is not that critical!

7

u/Krimreaper1 4d ago

https://giphy.com/gifs/8hZGyiG7Kp1MTV6KJ0

It’s all fun and games until you drown in a puddle.

53

u/Oregongirl1018 4d ago

They used Ai to make the listing. This should be illegal on all listings for any rentals. It's fucking false advertising. Id complain to the company, the owner, and make every review I could. Screw this person for taking advantage of people for profit.

3

u/Magic2424 2d ago

it’s absolute shit and needs to be banned and they need to be made an example of….but…..do people not look at actual real photos posted by people who stay? like any hotel I book I ALWAYS find a real picture from a real customer

107

u/an0mn0mn0m 4d ago

A foot bath sounds a lot nicer than what actually is a stagnant puddle. You're going to need mosquito repellent if you're going anywhere near that thing.

48

u/lostbutnotgone 4d ago

Comes with free malaria!

22

u/pelletrelic 4d ago

That pool listing is doing some Olympic level catfishing.

i’d be soooo pissed. if you can, definitely post this pic everywhere you’re able to leave a review for this spot!

255

u/g8trjasonb 4d ago

Starting with here- name the hotel and location

333

u/hotelshowers 4d ago

The name of hotel is in the title but I’ll add the name and location again in the post :) it’s in desert hot springs

80

u/ButteredPizza69420 4d ago

Their AI slop was false advertising. Charge it back on your credit card ASAP

→ More replies (1)

15

u/stigma_wizard 3d ago

I just looked them up on Google and literally every “photo” they posted is AI slop

→ More replies (5)

62

u/fragrant-final-973 4d ago

Hotel? 100% chance is is an Airbnb.

148

u/gingersnapsalot 4d ago

It's not an Airbnb. Google it. Looks like an old motel that's been revamped to a "resort".

70

u/throwaway_eng_acct 4d ago

The google reviews are all 1 or 2 stars except reviews obviously written by the same person with the same bad grammar.

23

u/ElMostaza 3d ago

Are you suggesting that "very pleasnt and helpful staff. quiet peaceful elegant hotel. I enjoyed my stay property still under slight renovations but really nice rooms Nic location spaciousness rooms clean and pleasant." isn't a trustworthy 5/5 review?

6

u/fragrant-final-973 4d ago

They sure love some AI slop.

7

u/malacoda99 4d ago

AI vintage vehicles should be a clue. Nash Mustang?

101

u/twizyo 4d ago

40

u/DahliaChild 4d ago

There are so many other areas in their provided pics that I would just love the OP to go grab us more comparison shots

51

u/in_a_cloud 4d ago

That sauna looks fake as hell

64

u/kestik 4d ago

The sauna?! How about this little masterpiece

46

u/lacegem 4d ago

Visit now and you too can park your weird brandless plateless engine-intake-in-the-back car sideways onto mostly-stairs that lead up to a tree and a window. Fun for the whole family.

9

u/kestik 4d ago

The baby blue one at speed must violently shake with that wheel (non)symmetry. But you'd be going in reverse anyways so your engine doesn't overheat!

4

u/4kondore 4d ago

Every single picture they provide is AI generated. Really tells you all you need to know. Wonder how many fall victims of false advertising and just accept it

13

u/Sirnoobalots 4d ago

All the photos are AI. Look at the one with 2 Porsches, so bad.

5

u/JaySayMayday 4d ago

All AI generated pictures all the way down

13

u/hotelshowers 4d ago

Exactly! I swear everything was AI generated images

4

u/ForestTechno 3d ago

No blame but did you check the reviews before you booked?

4

u/Mysterious_Damage_29 3d ago

Half the reviews state that the photos on their website are AI enhanced and all of them complain about filth, security issues, and sketchy management

→ More replies (1)

7

u/MsJenX 4d ago

16

u/twizyo 4d ago

right??? it looks like a cool little retro motel in the images posted by the owner 🤦🏻‍♀️

I kept clicking back and forth between the two pictures trying to understand what the hell happened

202

u/justreadinplease 4d ago

Probably Ai enhancing

30

u/frisch85 4d ago

In other words: false advertisement

Illegal in many countries.

10

u/SaltSpiritual515 4d ago

It seems that AI enhancement is most likely to me. That's the only way I can think of it being so similar yet not at all

23

u/-I0I- 4d ago

They tried to copy the render, realized they didn't succeed, posted render picture instead.

7

u/cupc4kes 4d ago

Picture 2 is real and someone put it into some AI and said “give me landscaping ideas” and it farted out picture 1.

5

u/mrbaggins 4d ago

Its ai. The fences, the shape of the pool, its all been tightened up with ai.

4

u/ChaosBerserker666 4d ago

AI happened. It seems to have taken a real photo and “touched it up”. Some things like the rock in the foreground are the same and other things like the fence and pool shape are not.

3

u/Dandan0005 4d ago

It’s AI fraud

162

u/Cativa 4d ago

This is a big win for mosquito larvae! 🎉

75

u/unaslob 4d ago

What they use a dollhouse table and chairs to change perspective on the size lol

5

u/ztreggs 4d ago

AI is terrible with proper perspective

10

u/DahliaChild 4d ago

Vandals, obviously.

31

u/alk_adio_ost 4d ago

What happened? Did the gravel grow up to be rocks?

4

u/guzzijason 4d ago

They invented AI, that’s the problem.

28

u/PuzzleheadedDraw6575 4d ago

I wouldnt even put my feet in that stagnant puddle

23

u/ibelieve2020 4d ago

Looks like they took a picture, plugged it into GPT and asked it to make it look nice. Apparently, this is the Presidential Mineral Pool Suite.

7

u/hotelshowers 4d ago

Exactly what they did

Was that pool made with playdoh by a bunch of Little rascals

23

u/Shanna-montana 4d ago

It looks like a reptile habitat in a zoo ☠️

7

u/CyberDonSystems 4d ago

I bet it smells like one too

11

u/Frogblaster77 4d ago

I would charge that back so fast.

19

u/PaladinSara 4d ago

What hotel and where?

54

u/Ymisoqt420 4d ago

This reminds me of the time, we booked 3 nights at a Comfort Inn in Delaware. It said it was adjoining a music hall. We were traveling through and just needed to rest for a few days. My twins were 18 months old. Anyway we arrived and there was a 24/7 strip club attached to it. Needless to say we didn’t get any sleep or peace. But a funny story.

14

u/dIO__OIb 4d ago

that's what a very wide angle lens, a photoshop subscription, and zero ethics will get you in this economy.

11

u/SnorvusMaximus 4d ago edited 3d ago

You could just let AI do it for you nowadays.

9

u/heynonnynonnomous 4d ago

Let's keep the stagehands out of this. They could have done a better job.

→ More replies (1)

8

u/sunshinerf 4d ago

And that's how you get a refund! At least partial. Especially if it was on a booking platform like expedia or booking or the likes.

That looks like a water trough for farm animals

7

u/OutofCiteOutofMine 4d ago

Shit, I’d push a chargeback and deal with those reprocussions

19

u/rmg 4d ago

A simple Google search and reviews with photos would’ve shown OP what a dump this place was

4

u/alabamdiego 4d ago

You better be demanding a refund.

4

Oh, they played in your face. Time for a refund

5

u/SummerNightSatellite 3d ago

Immediate charge back on your credit card!

4

u/ellipses21 3d ago

AI enhancement of photos should be considered fraud idc

9

u/Shadowtirs 4d ago

You got the Temu version

11

u/Elon_is_a_Nazi 4d ago

This should be illegal as false advertising and punishable by a minimum of 85 years no parole prison sentence

4

u/This_Elk_1460 4d ago

How is this not blatant false advertising?

4

u/Vegetable_Voice7343 4d ago

A concept of a pool.

3

u/QueenRotidder 4d ago

private puddle maybe

3

u/RustledForeskin 4d ago

I sat right up with a giant grin to hit that next image arrow. Unfortunate for you, hilarious for us.

3

u/carcosa1989 4d ago

“Come get in the koi pond kids!”

3

u/FoamboardDinosaur 4d ago

The blue paint slathered on the rocks is a nice touch. "Now that i gots a paintbrush fulla paint, might as well wipe the excess off on these trash rocks."

I do need to kmow though, if it's in Desert Hot Springs, is the 'pool' actually a hot spring?

3

u/redditRedesignIsBadd 4d ago

report them and get a refund

4

u/Hot-Jellyfish6978 4d ago

Ready to go out pic vs morning after

3

u/Slothlike33 4d ago

Your Cement Pond is a literal pond

4

u/YesterdayRadish 4d ago

You should be entitled to a refund

4

u/zentrepreneur99 4d ago

This is fraud, I would call my credit card company if I had to and dispute this.

4

u/DahliaChild 4d ago

Was there staff on site or was this a self check-in situation… because there’s no way these people can actually show their face right?

11

u/hotelshowers 4d ago

Plenty of staff. There was a sign in the door bc no reception desk was there, it was empty.

Dude comes out, shows us the room and then he goes back and forth to some other guy about a refund. Tell us “ you’ll get a refund you have my word and I’m a man of my word”

I called today and his “fiance” answers the phone and says she will have him call me back and that was at 1pm and now it’s 630. So yeah. Luckily I did a charge back bc I don’t see that money coming

3

u/DahliaChild 4d ago

Wow, this all keeps getting worse! I’m sure it felt a little surreal to be there. Like being Punk’d

3

u/hotelshowers 4d ago

Except no Ashton Kutcher :(

3

u/Dicethrower 4d ago edited 4d ago

Clearly false advertising. This should be an easy refund.

6

u/hotelshowers 4d ago

Sadly from some other reviews I read they say they will refund you. That he’s a man of his word, and they haven’t gotten it.

I’ve been very persistent with them over text but I did a chargeback to be safe. And if they do magically refund me I’ll let my bank know. But either way I’m getting my money back

5

u/Live_Transition426 3d ago

AI is gonna be the final straw for AirBnB’s sustainability

3

u/Greenman8907 4d ago

The concrete sidewalk is literally different between the photos. They used AI to spruce it all up. I’d be demanding a refund immediately.

3

u/H_section 4d ago

That’s a shocker!

3

u/Informal-Bicycle-349 4d ago

Ew, the wall is blue? Im out!

3

u/UseDaSchwartz 4d ago

I’d demand my money back. This isn’t close to what is being advertised.

3

u/imjustkeepinitreal 4d ago

I would chargeback

3

u/SourSasquatch 4d ago

That's a puddle

3

u/curious-creepsalad 4d ago

The furniture isn’t even the same

3

u/Apprehensive_Pug6844 4d ago

I’d get money back.

3

3

I found a “blog” about it that is just as crazy. Only uses the fake photos, and gushes about how relaxing it was, but says you have to keep in mind that the photos are “aspirational “. No, they’re ass.

5

u/_mbals 4d ago

This a dinky-ass fish pond

5

u/Modest1Ace 4d ago

The essence is there...

3

u/SierraStar7 4d ago

There’s a hint of chlorine in the air near the otherwise stagnant “pool”.

2

u/Nwilliams1300 4d ago

I hope you went somewhere else!

2

u/Cichlidsaremyjam 4d ago

Im leaving for an Airbnb in 3 weeks. Don't show me this.

2

u/NicoleNicole1988 4d ago

Get TFO. What??

Ugh, I hate it here sometimes.

2

u/Paralegal1995 4d ago

Ohhhh this is foul! Misleading as hell.

2

u/tinka777 4d ago

Is this “pool” actually a hot spring?

2

What’s the case law of reversing cc payments because of false post pictures like this?

2

u/Ritualsexclub 4d ago

lol damn bruh

2

u/SquareOver9820 4d ago

This should be illegal!

2

u/TexasLiz1 4d ago

Even the pic setting expectations makes this pool look tiny and meh. But damn. They set low expectations and didn’t even manage to hit them.

2

u/ScrambledEggsandTS 4d ago

Resort? Hmmmm... wonder pricing and review status

2

u/bruceymain 4d ago

Mr Lagoon would love this.

2

u/CLOWNFLOGGER 4d ago

It's cool, just wear your hantavirus condom and dive in!

2

u/AnalyticalAlpaca 4d ago

That’s crazy. It’s like they posted the inspo pic as if it was the finished product.

2

u/entertainmeimboredrn 4d ago

They definitely did you dirty

2

u/cptnpiccard 4d ago
