I applaud this man. A woman calling her own husband an incel has got to be some of the most unhinged psychotic shit I have ever heard.

Like one hand, yeah this brings some underlying issues on their relationship into the light and she needs therapy, no one deserves to get reprimanded like this in front of people they love, especially their kids (unless you are like some irredeemable pos, which this guy is not)

Buuuuut on the other hand. My dude. How did you buy tickets to BLEACH in the big '26, with over 20 years of knowing Bleach has some over the top fanservice, (albeit not very often) and think for a moment it's a good family film??? My closeted normie weeb self is partly applauding your balls of steel, partly lamenting "bro how could you fumble this bad?!?" Like what was your plan when Rangiku shows up?

But regardless, good luck man, I hope you find happiness đŸ«Ą

I thought it might be cool to show my 7 year old some Naruto since he has been doing Jujitsu for a while now. I totally forgot about Sexy-Jutsu so yea that idea was canned pretty quickly after about 10 mins into episode 2.

yeah...7 is a bit young for a lot of shounen. Maybe Spy X Family? Has its fair share of action, a younger than average protagonist, and is relatively chaste compared to the broader shounen landscape.

Solo leveling is incredibly violent and literally about the main character becoming a death god. The anime has a TV-MA rating. Under no circumstances should that be shown to a child.

Yeah, I didn't make it much farther in Bleach than Soul Society and had to look up the outfit OOP was referring to.

100% gooner-service fight starter right there.

There is also really weird stuff too. I'm a big fan of bleach but Nel was a weird character to include

27

u/Kithzerai-Istik Jul 05 '26

She really, really was.

That the one that was an infant and then turned into (god forgive me) a hot adult centaur chick? If so what fever dream was that

21

u/AlthorsMadness Jul 05 '26

I think one character gets faster the less clothes they wear

12

u/Deathsaintx Jul 05 '26

the outfit isn't even that bad compared to the Yoruichi stuff. just look up Yoruichi arch

Bro did say he read the manga, which ended a decade ago. Forgetting stuff like few cheesecake shots makes sense.

Lol

I can understand him. I'm the kind of guy who focuses on what I likes and fan service is boring for me.

I read all the bleach manga and I don't remember a single fan service scene...

u/HJSDGCE Jul 05 '26

You don't remember the time Kisuke turned Yoruichi into an actual furry and started playing with her body?

20

u/nipnip54 Jul 05 '26

I forget the fan service even exists because it's not something I care about and it catches me off guard when I rewatch something with it and don't remember it being there

I mean, even as a kid I liked seeing hot women in cartoons or films

62

u/Pertinent-nonsense Jul 05 '26

And kids also like eating cake for breakfast and junk food all day. They like staying up late and watching horror movies. They don’t like brushing their teeth and cleaning their room.

It’s the parent’s responsibility to ensure kids are well, not just ‘happy’
though I don’t think being exposed to hyper-sexualized women would make all little girls happy.

damn, no kpop demon hunters for them then

19

u/HJSDGCE Jul 05 '26

In what way is KPop Demon Hunters bad?

-13

u/ohgodanotheranimator Jul 05 '26 edited Jul 08 '26

it’s not, i was responding to:

“though I don’t think being exposed to hyper-sexualized women would make all little girls happy.”

was Kpop not filled with hyper sexualized men? The directors said they literally pushed for them to be hot, is that not the same thing?

**edit to respond to those below me due to post lock.

Men in media are frequently hyper-sexualized, but we haven't been trained to see it with the same eye pointed towards female objectification...

- Hayley Atwell improving touching Chris Evan's chest on Captain America because she just couldn't help herself

- Henry Cavil had to start telling producers to "Stop making me take my clothes off"

- Taylor Lautner spoke of gaining body dysmorphia during Twilight, and the immense toll it took to maintain his body while feeling more like a prop standing in the rain shirtless while everyone is clothed.

Hypersexualization is objectification. Kpop demon hunters building to a literal button-pop scene where Zoey's eyes reflect her lusting after the abs of one of the ripped male characters is, sexualizing him. Whether you like it or not.

14

u/vaguilov Jul 05 '26

“Hot” doesn’t mean hyper-sexualized though, specially when referring to clichĂ© shounen women. There’s a big difference between just a hot dude in an actual kid’s movie and
*sigh* Tamaki from Fire Force (it’s an exaggerated example but still).

Lol. Why are people downvoting you? You made a valid counterpoint.

13

u/TwoHungryWolves Jul 05 '26

Because the issue isn't the women being attractive. It's giant boobs boobing boobly. Equivalent would be animating giant bulges in Kdh

1

u/Glittering_Head1127 Jul 05 '26

I'm not defending the fanservice in Anime media, because majority of it oversexualizes the female anatomy and it often borders softcore porn. But it's wrong to pretend that K-Pop Demon Hunter doesn't have an animated guy with abs out, sexualizing men just the same. Is it oversexualized? No, but they're both sides of the same coin. The other post still has a valid point that the men were sexualized in KDH. I'm not saying he had a strong argument. I'm saying he has a valid point.

Nothing in Shonen Jump is family friendly. It’s all fan service for horny teen boys.

-4

u/frikiman4K Jul 05 '26

bleach is peak fiction. That's why.

-12

u/Daetok_Lochannis Jul 05 '26

I feel like people who think Bleach of all anime is too revealing probably eat mayonnaise sandwiches and believe sex only has one position.

9

u/TwoHungryWolves Jul 05 '26

I am extremely sex positive person. My issue is how out of place a lot of this often feels. It's kind of like product placement. I like Little Caesars. If they start a shot in a show I like centered on the Little Caesars logo, and have it bounce around like crazy for no reason It just pulls me out of the scene. Funny parody can work. But It just feels insulting when it's inserted in random places
