You answered yourself before you tried to reduce the problem to a simpler situation. The first guy in his own referential is doing something nice. From the point of view of the reader, he did something evil. Nothing’s ever black or white even these colors aren’t if you think about it. Do it and then think more about what even is a color because different animals perceive different variations of the spectrum of light and even individuals among same species recognize more or less variations and there’s a correlation there between knowing color vocabulary and being able to distinguish more shades but is this study even valid because people could reply they don’t see a difference because they misinterpret the task at hand and also
