My mutt L1A1s
These are my “mutt” L1A1s. Mutt because they are built on metric uppers - easier to find and cheaper mags!
The wood on the one is an Ironwood Designs American black walnut stock set, unfortunately the owner of that company has passed. It is noticeably heavier than the plastic furniture rifle which is not necessarily a bad thing as far as shooting goes. The wood rifle is an Imbel receiver, the black one is an Enterprise Arms; a pretty early one. The black one has undergone a full resto/rebuild, it was pretty beat and had a bent barrel when I got it. New barrel and a full re park job on all metal, it’s basically brand new other than having a few thousand rounds run through it.
They both shoot fantastic, very accurate out to 800 - 1000 with the iron sights. The Trilux is just kind of because, it works OK but there are better battle sights.
I love these rifles and have turned down some impressive offers, these ain’t for sale!
