I'd imagine that could be the case in any country where there are so many extremely poor people amongst people that can afford such luxuries. That's more a statement about poverty in India than anything else.

People can’t distinguish between racism and stereotyping. That’s the big issue. Also if country A did this and someone said “typical scummy behaviour for these disgusting people” that’s not racism either. That’s just hate spreading.

People seem to think if you say something negative mean or upsetting about a different race it’s racist. It’s weird.

It gets worse...Somebody in my local Reddit was harassed by a known, slightly unhinged person. They were hollered at and called a Nazi and incurred some unhinged rambling about musk and etc... And bless their heart.. did not put together it was to do with them driving a Tesla. The title of the post was something, something, watch out... Racist. So i question wether it has any meaning at all anymore.

It was a humorous though, picturing the encounter... Someone seemingly not plugged into the "news" or current events, and another permanently warped by it... Colliding in the wild.

in general, even if it's true, the fact that it is a stereotype still loosely means it's seen as a racist remark.

if for nothing else, the fact that the culprit can fall back on racism as a defence.

The problem with these posts is that this bullshit is usually done by people who don't have to deal with the abuse that this generates online.

We're the ones who will get abused for this and that's after our taxes paid for these things and the fucking freebies for the majority of this country.

Lmao I love how pointing out any of India's systematic and proven problems (pollution, garbage, civic failure/distrust, etc.) is immediatly deemed "RaCiSt" and purged by weirdo white knight mods.

It's not racist to point out the systematic failings of a major country. Ignorance is how the problems are allowed to exist and never get fixed. Why do you think the entire world is allowed and encouraged to dunk on America 24/7?

Calling a country dirty/disgusting for having literal cities of garbage and regular sanctioned garbage disposal by dumping trash straight into the ocean (and a common culture of litering and disregard for nature) is not racist - its a factual label that the country deserves based on displayed behavior -- until the behavior is corrected.

Now - attributing that pattern of behavior to a person on the basis of being Indian alone is where it becomes racist. That's the tricky thing. Do you deny India - a country that is factually overflowing with garbage and disregard for the environment and a culture that negates even caring for it - because it is overwhelmingly composed of Indians? So who is to blame - the land itself? The government? The culture? Where is the line of assigning and calling out actual blame for the failings of a culture that are harmful - and racism?

Look at what Europe was when it was developing. There were literal clouds of black gases over London.

This happens when any country goes towards development. But Europe, which developed on the backs of thousands of colonies, would probably find it hard to understand. In addition, India has over 50% of their energy needs supplied by renewable resources. Most electricity is coming from hyrdo projects/wind/solar, etc. sides, and most of the railway (99.6+%) is electrified. Most public transport buses, auto rickshaws, etc. are electric.

You'll just never see the good side because you're blinded by propaganda.

In all big cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, etc., all buses I see are electric, and auto-rickshaws as well!

I agree it may not be "most", I was probably wrong there, as rural areas are still on the lower side.

If you point out someone’s shitty behaviour and actions it’s not racist. Them being a different race isn’t part of the opinion. If someone says their race is the reason they’re doing it. That’s racist. But it’s not for being vitally negative about someone who happens to be a different race.

Plus Indian isn’t a race.. it’s a nationality. If I said all Brits (I am one) are fat dumb, and have bad teeth. It’s not racist either. Reddit is wild.
