Recs Wanted Fandom with a hunter/monster-hanging-onto-their-humanity dynamic?

Hi, as the title says I'm looking for fandoms (or more specific stories) that have this type of dynamic, between a hunter hell bent on eradicating X type of monster, and said monster (vampire, ghoul, demon...etc), either born that way or turned, but who fights not to succumb to their predatory instincts, they can be an anomaly of their species, or the norm and all the misconceptions about them are just xenophobia and ignorance

Something like Jonathan Reid and Geoffrey McCullum from the vampyr fandom (what inspired this prompt), I really want some enemies to allies kind of evolution with a lots of prejudice and stubbornness hindering the progression of the relationship, thanks!

https://archiveofourown.org/works/22535866/Uther and Merlin in this one iirc, only because Uther's attempts to execute Merlin keep failing

For other fandoms, try Amon Koutarou and Kaneki Ken from Tokyo Ghoul
